When is the dance card full?

Okay, we're new. Still virgins in fact (swingers wise). We have been to on-premise clubs, off-premise events, and are listed on a swingers site. We've met some great people (several couples) who we have had dinner with, some kissing and foreplay, have had a great time so far and are planning on more. The thing is, we are meeting so many people and are setting up things to do that it's getting just a teensy overwhelming. Surrender

My question is, how many couples is it too much to keep up with? lol Okay now that I typed that it looks stupid....but I think you get the idea.

Sometimes it can get overwhelming and unfortunately some people don't understand that when you tell them your dance card is full right now but you really do want to meet them, you really mean it.

The number you're comfortable with will depend on how much time you want to invest in the Lifestyle balanced with other things in your life.

For us right now we've decided that we are happy with the circle of friends we have aquired and held on to, and it is about three couples and a single male. Luckily we are all friends and we kind of consider them our "tribe". So it is always allot of easy-going fun and no pressure.

Thanks Mrs WS! In fact we're meeting up soon with a couple we've spent some time with and hope to swap for the first time!

It's funny because we've been very up front with everyone we've met that we're "newbies" and are taking things a bit slowly. Everyone we have met and liked are all "veterans". The hubby told me once, we kind of jumped into the big boy pool lol. They've all been so great tho, they want to be our first! Kinna sux that you can only have one first....

People come and go. Take your time and find a few couples and or singles that you feel comfortable with. After that, as people leave the lifestyle, you lose interest in each other, or move from your area, you'll include others. And then there are those rare times that you'll meet people that you click so well with that they will become the exception and you'll let them in, no matter how busy you feel you are. Don’t expect to have the exact same kind of relationship with everyone you play with.

We recently 'cleared' our dance card for all but a few couples just to catch our breath.

No reason to burn yourself out, and there is NOTHING wrong with spending a few Saturday nights at home.

We've done exactly that the last two Saturday nights. It made a refreshing change. I've no doubt we'll enjoy this coming Saturday night all the more as a result of our break.

We've only been swinging since August, and I think our dance card is already full! We really only wanted a few 'steady' couples to play with, and I think we've found them. That doesn't mean we wouldn't hook up with someone new at a party or meet & greet if the mood struck, but I don't think we'll be actively looking for anyone new, either.

We have been swinging since... well, since before some of you where born.

We have found it is much easier for us to just go to the club once, twice a week and party with the people there.

Our life outside the club is busy as many are and we don't have the desire to try to keep up many relations outside of the club. We never started swinging to fill up a dance card and spend all the time trying to keep "friends" happy.

This topic is so funny, but completely true!

If we are lucky we get to go out once every other weekend (kids, life, etc.) which sometimes makes it really hard.

We find ourselves sometimes dreading opening the email for fear of recieving an invitation from a couple we are intersted in. We hate having to put of "dates" until sometime in the future for fear of appearing as we are blowing a couple off.

That is one thing we really like about the clubs is the opportunity to interact with more than one couple.

The LS is just a hobby for us. No long term relationships, no getting emotionally involved, and live a drama free LS. It was not always like this, but have found out that an empty dance card makes for a better LS living.
