Keeping track of threads

I know I'll get an email about new posts to a thread I contribute to. Is there some way to get the same for threads I don't post to but that I want to follow? I know I could put a little inconsequential post but I hate to add nothing.

I'm guessing on this one - - and saying the answer is to go to the bottom of the page on the thread, and click on the little block that says "Subscribe To This Thread".
