I am having a "posting issue".....Help.

This has happened to me on several occasions and it's getting very frustrating. I want to quote and reply to a post. I hit "quote", type what I want to say, click on "preview post", ( as I always do before I submit), and I get the error message pop up that says my post isn't long enough, must have more than 3 characters. IT DOES. It's several sentences. Anybody help??

Here is my guess at why this may have happened a few times.

I did an experiment just now.

I clicked "quote" and began typing INSIDE the quote, then I clicked "Preview Post" and I got the error message.

I'm wondering if those times that you got the error message you may have typed inside the quote without realizing it and that's why it came up.

I'm pretty much the king of piddling so from my experience, I think you should be sure to look at the Quote tags.

At the beginning of a quote there should be this for example, depending on who you are quoting, if you want to quote the entire post

and should have this guy [ /Quote ] at the end.

The fore/slash and all characters/letters/symbols, have to be in the tags, with no spaces between the letters/characters.

ALL the characters should be between and including these things [], [to the left and right] Sometimes, I knock the latter one out and get the same message.

When you quote a sentence or paragraph from a post its should have the [QUOTE ] at the beginning and the [/QUOTE ] with a fore slash in the tag, at the end. All the characters in the tags are important with no spaces inside. The "Quote=user name tag" shows who you are quoting in multiple quotes in the same response.

Then, be sure to type your response to the left or outside, the quote tags.

Piddle with this info and always know, the "Preview Post button" is our friend

I think the other folks have figured out your problem. One thing that helps me is when I click on "quote", I always hit the enter key at least once, to make sure the cursor drops down from the quoted material.

If I'm cutting and pasting quotations from multiple posts, or only want part of the material quoted, I'll do the cut & paste, then just highlight the part I want in the 'quote box' and click on the quote button. It automatically ads the coding, and then I simply move the cursor down the page and proceed as normal.
