Soo......im just curious ( a little background...im part owner in a 60k member VB fourm) why dont you have the top poster...or the top ten stats listed.... personally to me...knowing the top ten posters on a site gives me good references to go to with questions that would pertain to what the site is about.. Also...having the top ten newest threads on the main forums page helps me know what the recent activity is on the site and what is getting the newest and most common attention... M and J |

The top poster would be me, by a long shot and I don't really feel it appropriate to have myself listed at the top of the forum. As for why I don't have more "top stats" or whatnot listed at the top of the page, it's mainly because I like for people to be able to get to what they came here for (the content). You can go to the member list and sort it by post count, of course with a forum that's been around this long some of those members are no longer here (another good reason for not listing it on the main page). Also, just because someone posts a lot doesn't mean they are the ones you want to go to with questions. The best thing to do is read the forums and as you do so take a look at what people say (you can also reference th reputation bar - which is turned on) to get the best idea of which members other members tend to think give the best advice. The top ten newest threads is listed on the main page of the site, although not on the forums home page (that page has enough on it with just the massive list of forums. |

I'm not looking to be a stastic..... Once you start that then you open the door for post whores (people who post to up their post count) who have nothing better to say than, Ditto, Yep, 1, OK, me to....and it just junks the thread(s) up. Thanks for keeping it the way it is. | |
