This is still occuring for him. This was a problem we've had here forever it seems.

When he logged in at http://www.swingersboard.com it did not log him in. Even after clearing cookies. If he logs in from the forums he's fine.

Speaking of logging in, maybe what I have noticed has something to do with what ownerspet is experiencing.

Previously, when I logged in I never clicked the "remember me" (I think that is what it says) button. I could get into the site and view anything and post anywhere. When I was ready to leave SB I didn't have to log out.

Now, if I log in and want to view the whole site or post in certain forums, I HAVE to click that "remember me" box or I'm not allowed to post.

This change isn't a problem for me, but it took me awhile to realize what was happening and what is now required.

You may be onto something. For me I still don't have to clck the "remember me" and I never did. But I will have him try that and see if it makes a difference.

We may need to make it checked by default.

The little clock icon that indicated whether a story submission was still in process seems to be gone. Also, there's no longer a total number of 'reads' assigned to a story. It's small stuff but I get a goofy thrill knowing the number of reads and comments on any story I submit. No biggee.

The clock is gone. I'm not sure what you'll see when there's a story waiting for moderation right now (or if you'll see anything when it's your own story). All stories that were waiting have been approved (although we may still have to go back and actually read them - which means there is a small chance that a story that has been approved may get removed later.

I don't know if we can go back and put the story "views" on the individual story page or not, but that is something to look into.

I'm trying to get used to the "New Posts" as it compares to the previous "Active Topics."

After starting a new thread a moment ago, I next clicked on "New Posts" to see if it appeared. It didn't. Not until someone posted on it did it appear.

Why is that?

I've had a similar issue. In that after looking at a new thread then going and doing something else I wanted to go back to ... but it was no longer in the "New Posts"... because I had viewed it.

Basically, the way the "New Posts" works now is that it's going to show you any threads that you have new posts since you last viewed them. Your own post isn't going to count... because you've already seen it since you posted it. It will show up in the list for other people who have not yet seen YOUR post. It does take a little getting used to. And I think I would still like to see an addition of a "Today's Posts" to the members menu (this is what unreg/not logged in folks see).

I think setting "remember me" as default would be helpful. It eliminates the need for that extra step and I think most users would appreciate that.

I'd like that too.

The old format really helped me know at a glance if someone posted after me. If I still see my name up there, I don't bother to open the thread. But now, if I don't see my name, I can't recall if the username posted was the one before me or a new person who posted. I hope that makes sense.

There is a "Today's Post" under the "Quick Links"...it's what I've been using since we don't have the "Active Topics" button anymore.

ooo... something I just noticed with this "New Posts" button...

After the new threads there is this little message and then some more threads.
The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts.

I like that.

A friendly reminder that I was lazy the last time I was here and I didn't read everything. But, don't worry! The site kept those threads aside just for me.
