Spammer alert

I just received a message from a new member named turing, in which I saw his website was in his signature, I am a moderator at a couple other boards and I know no one sent me a message on purpose as little as we have been active here, so I did a search and sure enough

I got one as well, and had to ponder on the name for a few minutes. The turing test is the test used to determine if a machine is capable of thought, or artificial intelligence, so I'd assume that it's a hoax, or some sort of 'bot. It's odd though, I've never seen a bot on a forum before.

Actually, almost all of the spam you see that shows up on forums is done by an automated program that operates very similar to a web bot.

They have always been here, but we do our best to keep them to a minimum and delete the spam and the spammers as soon as possible. Luckily, we have a group of REALLY AWESOME mods that do their job really well. And in addition to that we great members here who rather than engage the spammers they report them so that we can catch them quicker. Thank you all for continuing to do so.
