The Aluras have a special place in my heart as well. Even though Al primarily posts, you know that Mrs Alura is with him all the way. They are such special people.

Like so many others here, I feel that everyone here that brings their experiences and honesty to the table fall into this category. But a few that stand out would be

Intuition, she always sees the problem behind the post. Spoomonkey, you can always count on him for a good laugh mixed in with his experience. Thrax, you can always count on him to remind you that there are single decent men. JnCC, for being so honest even while being humorous. Julie, for taking the time to make it work. And prettylady...its rare to find someone sincerely nice like she is.

I'd think that BiBlonde should be on this list! Opinionated but accurate.

I have to agree that there are so many great people posting here, but at the risk of riding with the herd, I also vote for Mr. and Mrs. Spoonmonkey (some of their posts had me laughing out loud); Intuition, whose posts are insightful and interesting, and Pretty Lady for the quality of innocence that she brings to the board. I also like Chicup, Westernswing, and Mr. and Mrs. Alura. I also like Sbcouple and was saddened to hear about "B"'s death.

But I also love the posts by Concupiscence (Mr. and Mrs). They seem so intelligent, fun-loving and yet down to earth.

And who couldn't like Thrax? Here's a man who seems like a true Renaissance man, complete with heirloom tomatoes, along with other charming attributes.

We are humbled and grateful for all the kind remarks about us, particularly Spoomonkey, who has been one of our favorites for a long time now.

As we think of some of our "heros," many who come to mind are no longer active on the board. Since the words written here are about as close to "permanent" as most things get, their wisdom shouldn't be left out just because their lives have led them in other directions. Their contributions are shining lights of wisdom for us.

Mrs. Alura's illness has ended swinging for us and curtailed much of our participation on this board. Although we do our daily moderator duties still, we find our time consumed by so many other (often less pleasant) jobs that must be done, leaving less and less time for board participation.

Our thanks to y'all for your kindness and respect. We've made some wonderful friendships here which mean more to us than y'all can ever know.

Just when I think I have mastered saying what's on my mind, you go and do it for me. I guess I didn't though because it would have exposed me to caring a little about "the contest"...not a lot, but there is a twinge.

I suspect that most people/couples that post on here do it out of: 80% truly caring about people, 10% wanting to hear themselves talk, 10% wanting others to validate their thoughts.
