Lurkers Sign In

Of those 47 members about half are between 0 and 1 post, even though some have been members for several years!

So, while this may be the most fuitless post ever written, lurkers sign in here, what brings you to the board? What makes you stay and log on but not post?

I am one of those lurkers that logs on practically everyday but hasn't posted anything in years. We are moving towards actually fulfilling a few fantasies, but we are definitely moving slowly. Visiting here allows me to swing vicariously through others, and also allows me to glean little bits of wisdom here and there from successful swingers. Successful meaning those who stay happily married, and devoted to each other while still enjoying the forbidden fruits the lifestyle offers.

Its funny that sometimes I forget I have been invisible on here for the most part, yet I find myself reacting when certain members get flamed, or criticized. All in all I have learned a lot from the members here, from dealing with the green eyed monster to better ways to communicate with each other.

So while we may never actually ever swing , the collective members on this board have provided more realistic relationship advice than I have ever heard from a counsellor.

Thats why I keep coming back.

I guess I'm a lurker because I enjoy reading what others have to say but this is the first time I've posted. Most of the time I don't post because I just don't have much time and sometimes because someone else has said what I would say only better. Please don't be harsh on those of us who just read. There are some very interesting topics and very eloquent writers on this board.

Wilma and I have discussed the swing lifestyle, but have not taken that step. The opportunity has been offered often in either round about fashion or even via the direct approach. As stated here, you only proceed as fast as the slowest partner and that is our perogative to work out.

As for being a lurker, occassional I will post something, but I really did not see the sign on the door on the way in stating "Exclusive - This Message Board for Dedicated Swingers Only" -

Mmmm are all lurkers this touchy that they assume the post has a negative connotation? I'm honestly curious and trying to get more board involvement, how this is interpreted as a 'lurkers go away' post is quite beyond me.

I don't think ANY board outside of a pr0n (god I hate that 'term') board has a greater lurker to poster ratio out there, and things can only improve with more posters.

Nothing wrong with lurkers, but sometimes I wonder the same simply because the more points of view presented (even if it is the same as another post) the more interesting the subject becomes.

I'm willing to guess that a large number of the guests are people who googled 'sex stories' but for the rest who signed up as couples it would be nice to hear from them.

The number that it show is not just those who are in the forums but the number of people throughout the site (stories, chat, info, sitting on the front page trying to figure out what to do next). So many of them may never even see your post because they never hit the forums or if they do they still may not see this post because they may be just browsing forum by forum trying to learn what they can.

I don't always post, only when I think I can add something to the discussion (and I reckon that can be debated as well -- hahaha) -- but, I do read the posts daily for edumikation purposes. Those who do post a lot are providing wonderful knowledge and insite to those who are just reading. Nothin' wrong with that.

(Didn't your mama ever say if you can't say something nice (or productive), don't say anything at all? Maybe the "lurkers" just can't think of anything of value to add to the conversation. No harm done.)
