Trolls... What is the point?

Why do people come here and make those annoying troll posts such as:

I got pregnant swinging.
I got an STD swinging.
I want to get pregnant by swinging.
etc.

What is the point and why do they do it?

I can only imagine that they are vanilla types overly obsessed with swinging for some reason and come here posing as swingers in an attempt to scare people. I can't imagine why someone opposed to swinging would be so obsessed with it that they seek out message boards and try to play stupid games.

What is your take on this?

I don't really have an answer to your question... why does anyone do what they do?

although.... For the sake of not being totaly ignorant, doncha think these things DO happen in this lifestyle?

I am sure that they do happen but over and over again, we've seen people come to this board that were obviously trolls and that is the focus of my question.

There hasn't been a message board I've seen that didn't have trolls.

My guess is that even knitting boards have trolls.

I do like your avatar, HappyPeople, very cool.

The topic of trolls comes up about as often as the troll posts do. Some trolls are more creative than others. My guess is that trolls in general go to a site and try to come up with a topic that they think will stump the general users of the site, thus sending us into a tizzy. The problem with the types of threads you mentioned is that they are topics that really do happen and are situations that we (as swingers) do think about and discuss openly.

Whether it's one of the topics you mentioned or something a little more thought provoking I think this is a reason why trolls can sometimes be a good thing - they do provoke thought, and often bring up topics that might not be considered otherwise and getting us looking at things from a different perspective. It's always good to go outside of your box and consider different situations.

There are always people that like to make an issue out of anything. It seems to be their lot in life to try to upset others. But trolls do have their uses, they can at least be amusing at times.
