How often will someone post a PM to the board?

I agree with you.

Given the topic this board addressess I imagine rather thoughtless messages get sent sometimes, but it seems like you'd just ingnore someones stupidity not make a public spectacle of them.

makes me a little afraid to communicate further. I'm new to chat boards all together.

I tend to agree with Mr. WS.
In certain circumstances, I may consider posting the PM or quoting a part of it without revealing who sent it.

As WS said, Private messages should be just that private, but there have been occasions when private messages have become public. The ones I can think of are situations where a private message to one person revealed a user to be something other than what they represented themselves to be publicly on the board.
