How Far Have You Come since you joined the Swingers Board?

Joined August of 06' as newbies. We had 101 questions and concerns. We also had 101 rules.

Now, we only have three rules....
1.) condoms must be worn
2.) no bi play
3.) always have a good time
Only some real drama or a crazy situation could spoil the mood for us now.

Wonder where the 6 years have gone.
As far a swinging is concerned, we have not progressed too far. One or two couples (mostly one). A sometime thing due to family, job and just life pressures. Since swinging is not our primary hobby it sometimes gets a back seat. Just wish AIDS would go away so we would not have to be as picky.

Then, post where you are today in regards to swinger status. Have you had any major changes in the time you've been a member here?

I joined the board on June 19, 2006. (Yesterday was our two year anniversary!!)

I joined the board to do a little research, ask questions, and get a feel for how swingers act. Dave had brought up the idea of swinging and I wasn't sure I was ready for that. In fact, I was down right hurt that he wanted to have sex with someone else. I had those thoughts I think that most spouses do when it's brought up for the first time. It was a BIG surprise for me to hear it coming out of his mouth, anyway. It's really insane now that I think about how I had these fantasies with other guys, but I couldn't tell him any of that. We both share the idea of emotional monogamy, but not sexual monogamy.

We've both grown since joining the board. We've been with a few couples and we did have a single that we played with quite regularly. It's been a great ride!! I think as I look back on our marriage, he brought it up at about the right time. Any earlier than that and I don't think it would have worked out. We're both still searching for other couples ( or maybe even play with couples we've already been with) and still having that wonderful communication and relationship where we act like newlyweds.

I am forever grateful to the man (you know who you are!!) who I PM'd and asked question after question about why he wanted to swing. He shared with me a lot of his fantasies and explained why he wanted to see his wife with another man. I think Dave's a little grateful that I PM'd him as well.

According to the date under our avatar pic, we've been here since 2003. We were brand new to the lifestyle in terms of all areas of swinging. However approx. 3yrs or so after we got married, we had a girlfriend. Didn't know that we were swinging and didn't care because we were just doing what we felt like doing and enjoying it. We went through a lot in the lifestyle in the previous years and most of it could have been better in terms of the people and the social climate. We have always known what we like and what appeals to us and that's where we are now. We like the idea of having a girlfriend to play with. We have thought about how wonderful it would be to find a couple with the same interests as we have in the lifestyle and a non-judgmental, non-inhibited style of social behavior. All the parties and meet-n-greets are behind us for the most part. We still identify our lifestyle as swingers only...who really cares (hahaha)

We joined in Dec 2005, shortly after we had our first swinging experience in a New York City on-premises swing club. We were very new to this and wanted to find out what other thought and take advantage of their insight. Two and a half years later, we have really expanded our sexual horizons, and had a lot of fun doing so. What has really surprised us is how swinging has seemed to strengthen our relationship, made us very trusting of each other, something we never found in previous relationships.

I was surprised to note that I joined in 2003, and don't even remember why it was that I joined, as I never entertained thoughts that we would become swingers. Guess it was because it was a nice fantasy and there were some pretty hot posts & stories to read.

And there were long stretches of time where I didn't visit the forum at all.

Imagine my surprise when we started to explore the lifestyle a little over a year ago -- 4 years from the time I joined this site! Honestly, being a member here had absolutely nothing to do with our becoming interested in the lifestyle.

Funny how life works, sometimes...
