I picked up A Kiss of Shadows at the bookstore the other day! I'm hoping to start it sometime this week. That's the first of the fairy series, right? To be truthful, not only do I think Anita is wishy-washy, I think she's 100% raw bitch to. LOL I don't like her very much. Yeah I agree she should do Richard and Jean-Claude both and then go raise Peter and let him join in also (I'm still pissed he got killed off in Guilty Pleasures, he was a hotty). She needs to get over that non-human hangup of hers and enjoy!! I'm reading The Lunatic Cafe right now and am kind of upset that Gretel/Gretchen didn't toy with Anita longer than she did. It would have been fun to watch Anita squirm while Gretel/Gretchen taunted and toyed with her. Hamilton could have stretched that out over a few books before having a confrontation between Anita, Jean-Claude, and Gretel/Gretchen. I could really see the Anita Blake series on film...wouldn't that be a blast!! Quin

If your just up to the Lunatic Cafe, you have a lot of fun a head of you, as well as, a lot of getting pissed, . I don't want to give anything away, but it gets better. Don't worry about Gretel, you get to see her again, lol. I have read the whole series at least five times, new book scheduled to come out spring of next year. Yes, Kiss of Shadows is the first book in the fairy series. Meredeth, the main character, has a totally different attitude than Anita, I think you might like her. I haven't read any of her other books, althouth I am a mild Trekie fan, lol. And yes, to see the series on TV or a movie, I would love. Anytime you want to discuss the books, I am more than happy to do so, I love living in Hamilton's worlds They are a great break from reality, not to mention the hot sex scences in them I just love the way her main charcters are women, surrounded by hot gorgeous men. Teresa

He was surprised that I hadn't read any of hers since I've read all of Rice, PN Elrod, the Vampire Twin series (can't remember who wrote that one), Michael Romkey, Amanda Ashley and Christine Feehan. I told him if he would try Feehan, I would try Hamilton. Now he's also hooked on Feehand and I'm hooked on Hamilton. You may enjoy Feehan. She's writes gothic romances and this Vampire romance series. Her protagonists are Carpanthians from the Carpanthian Mountain region in Europe. They need blood to live on, sleep during the day, etc but live in a world of black and white until they meet their lifemate. Upon meeting their lifemate color is restored to them (that's how they know who they're lifemate is). If they don't find their lifemate they turn into vampires, horrible horrible vampires. The males of the species spend their lives hunting down those that have turned to kill them. Oh, all lifemates have something about them such as being clairvoyant, etc etc and the lifemates are turned to Carpanthians by the third step in the ritual of claiming a lifemate. Feehan's books contain a lot of physical fighting and the love scenes are very, very erotic and the male Carpanthians are to die for. If you decide to try one, get the first in the series, Dark Prince. I so dislike reading a series out of order. My goal is to have all of Hamilton's Anita Blakes done by the time the new one is released. I don't buy hardbacks if I know a book will eventually come out in paperback (basically because I buy 20-30 books a month) and her next one is scheduled in hardback first. With the paperback to be released a year later. I have heard that Richard gets into legal troubles later on down the line of books and that Anita feels she must rescue him. You know, for some broad who thinks she has it all together and is some tough ass, she sure is a dolt at times. And the men are to die for in these books, literally. Jean-Claude is just so damn smooth and suave. Richard is so sexy and caring. <sigh> I wanna live in Anita Blake's world!! Quin

You sound like us when it comes to reading, we have a room in the house that has nothing in it but books from floor to cieling on just about any subject matter you can think of and we never get rid of any of them. I know what you mean about Jean Claude and Richard, I am sooo in love with Jean Claude, and my husband looks a lot like she describes him in the book . Ted knows how much I love the series that one day he sent me a dozen white roses with one red rose in the center. The card was addressed to Ma Petite, and on the inside of the card it read..You are Mine, The Prince of Darkness...Needless to say, the man got it good that night When you find a way to live in Anita's world, PLEASE take me with you. Teresa

He deserved to get it good that night!! Go Ted!!! Christine Feehan is great and I think you'll enjoy her books. She was unpublished and went to Leisure with 8 books already written and they bought them all and optioned for 8 more. The series in order (from first to last published) is:
Christine Feehan She has the first chapter from every book on the website (at least she did a few months ago) so you can read the first chapter then run right out to the bookstore and pick it up. I know the Barnes and Nobel about 40 miles from my house carries her full series. I'm sure Amazon has them all and you might be able to find them at half.com. Scarletti Curse is her goth. It was good, IMHO but I love her Carpanthian series more. I find a way to live permanently in Anita's world, I'll be sure to grab you and Ted and pull you thru the vortex with me. Then Jean-Claude can bring Ted over for you!! And when he upsets you, you can call him fang face!! I started the fairy book today while sitting waiting at the doctor's office. Was really glad to see that Hamilton used Celtic fairy lore!! I have this system...new books in the purse, not finished yet purse books to the nightstand. I'm always reading at least two at a time. I always try to keep one close to the computer also as when I'm playing my games and in a mandatory rest mode, I can read. I'm desperately looking for Rice's erotica series. They are VERY hard to find. My friend in Texas is also looking down there for me tho he says they may be even harder to find down there because when the books came out, they were banned in many of the towns. I have a few of her witch series but haven't started them and I have two from the vampire chronicles I haven't read. Before Hamilton, I was much into shape shifters or lycanthropes. I've read romances with them as the male protagonist and always thought, how could you love or make love to a werewolf...that was just a lil too far out there for me, but Hamilton has changed all that!! Heck, I've even got a thing for Gabriel the wererat!!! Quin
