My wife used to shave "down there" for special occasions and otherwise. That is a real turn-on for me. However, a while back she started getting repeated yeast infections, and she decided that the shaving was making her more susceptible to yeast, so she stopped shaving. Does anybody have any knowledge or opinions on this topic? I would like for her to shave again but don't want to ask her if it's really not healthy. thanks -

'Nuf sed! My wife trims and shaves, as do I. We both use Gold Bond powder (a medicated talcum powder) to keep everything dry. Without it, the nether regions do seem to stay more moist, which can lead to more yeast infections. |

not that I believe everything I read but... talcum powder use in the genital area has been discouraged due to it's link of use to certain types of cancer... don't ask me for specifics I don't remember them. But I do recall it being in the news and thinking it was odd since you basically drown baby's "nether regions" in powder... another note, I've used the medicated bonds powder down there and it bothers me. The medicated powder gives me an odd - and to me - unpleasant sensation in my vagina. I had to take another shower and get it off. So if you do try it, use sparingly at first. |

I just shaved my crotch area. I trimed the area on my stomach and legs and trimed the hair around the base of my cock and balls. I was not sure if I would like this, as it turns out, I do like it. My Question is, how many guy's shave? Do you shave your self "bald" or just trim and clean up the area? Magnum |

Yes, I shave from time to time. Usually the shaft and scrotum. Sometimes everything. It just depends on who I'm dating and how much time I want to devote to keeping a clean look.

Do what you feel comfortable doing. BTW, if you haven't figured it out if you let the hair grow out it will itch really awful the first few times or if you stop shaving for awhile. It's normal, and something that shavers go through. If you're worried about what's "normal". Don't. I've been to nudist clubs, BDSM, clubs, and in the locker room at many gyms and you'll see everything from someone fully shaved, to very hairy. |

Thanks, I did get a little "itchy" but figured it would pass. I have been using my electric shaver, what is your preference? Magnum

I usually use "Surgi-Cream" when I'm not razor shaving. It's a foam-on depiliatory made for surgery prep... you can buy it at any local Walgreens or Wal-Mart store (and I think Long's carries it, too). It's like a mousse for your hair... and you leave it on for 4 minutes, and wipe off. VOILA. As Smooth and Bare as a baby's ass! The spray-on Nair and the Foam-On Veet also work well, but although they each say 4 minutes, as well... it takes around 10 to work right. When I do shave though... I use Gillette women's shaving gel and either Larren's Mach III, or Champion... or I use the New Intuition (works WONDERS!!!), or the Venus razor. I've also found that when shaving everyday (or every other) it's good to switch your razor from day to day. When using the same razor all the time, I find I get ingrown hairs (OUCH!) because it's the same cut everytime... when using different types of razors, it offers my body a chance to recouperate from the "damage" it thinks has happened, by using a different stroke or different angle each shave. Trust me... works for me and several of my friends... it may be just what she's needing, too... although I REALLY do suggest the Surgi-Cream or Veet if you can find them!
