Swinging and Tattoos

Well for years I've been thinking of a tattoo which would mean the most to me, to represent something of great depth, and as I sorted through my ideas and sketched up others, a question came to mind.

How does having or a playmate/potential playmate effect you being a swinger?
Have you ever had a person join whom had a really childish tattoo? If so how did you react or feel about it?

What are your feelings about tattoos and are they a turn on of just a turn off for you?

How much is too much for you?

Mrs. CXXC happens to have two sizable tattoos. One upon each hip. They nearly form a belt of sorts. I do not happen to have any tattoos. I have a few piercings (Nothing below the waste). THere have not been any instances where Mrs. CXXC or I have been turned away from potential playmates for our body modifications.
On the other side of the coin, we have seen a handfull of individuals with extreme body modifications. When one has more ink exposed than flesh it is somehting that is a turn off to us both. Even body piercing has a limit to us both! Perhaps that makes us hipocrates. However, We are both far from the extreme.

No ink on either of us, the only time it bothers us with potential playmates is if the tats are very poorly done or, as CXXC said, covers more flesh than is clear.

I decided not to get any tats pretty early on...I worked with a bunch of WWII era Navy veterans, let me tell you aging skin will destroy the most beautiful of tattoos and you don't even want to see what happens to the poorly done ones.

Are you afraid that someone will view the tat you want to get as childish? The majority of people that have them tend to put some thought into what they get and whatever it is, usually has some special meaning to them.

I have a few...a sun around my belly button...some chinese characters on the back of my neck...and a rather sizeable one on my lower back (a sacred heart with wings)...and most have been quite complimentary about them.

I also have piercings (nip rings, a VCH bar, belly button ring)...I agree with others....I like body art...but not sure that I would like a partner to be totally covered in them.

Not at all, on the contrary I was more over curious to know the opinions and feelings of others towards the whole tattoo thing, to be honest sure I would love to hear that people are complimenting towards the Tattoos I'll have done, but in all truth the tats I'll be having done is for me, a symbol of representation of something for me.
I've without a doubt place much thoughts into the tattoos I will be soon getting, and I very much agree with what most have said so far, as long as the art isn't too extreme in terms of having more ink than flesh than tat's are fine..
I only plan to get two tattoos, one on my thigh and one on the right side of my back...

My wife has suggest that we get "Mutual" tatoos...and we have looked around and have never done it. But it's something we might do some day, and maybe not. I have to say the only real tats that bother me are when a person is really inked up. A tat here a tat there...several tats...no biggie, but when someones body turns into a tat billboard...well, it starts looking tacky...

Of course any gang stuff, racial stuff, nazi stuff and the likes is a complete reject for me and I am confident for my wife also....

Who knows, maybe some day we will head that direction again....

I just asked since in your original post you mentioned if any one had met up with someone who had a really childish tat. It immediately made me think "wow, i'm glad i didn't get that tazmanian devil tat i desperately wanted when i was 18"

I like tats...and want more...but also have them in places that are normally covered up so it's kind of like my little secret...unless I want you to see.

haha Well I think the reason I asked mostly was because I'll be getting my tats done soon, and over the many thoughts and workings of designing my tattoos I spend a good amount of time browsing others tattoos and there were a lot of people who got tattoos of video game chars, even things like Disney chars, and i mean to each person his/her own if it makes them happy and has meaning and as long as its not like a full body suit, than that's cool. But it drew a curiousness from me, I started to wonder what others thought about it, if they were mostly fine with it, or if there were those out there that found having ink on the body a turn off...

And I would love to see your secret tat's if we ever have the chance to meet one day..
I'm sure me and my partner will have one or two to share as well...

Since you asked...

Tats are a turn off for us and people that feel the need to show them and discuss their meaning are an even bigger turn off. Every time I see one my first thought is "what a shame". I don't care what meaning it has or how intricate the artwork is, the area would look better if it wasn't there. Small ones can be overlooked sometimes. Some are worse than others. The bellybutton tats look too much like a browneye. The lower back "arse antlers" have been so overdone that they all look the same. A full back tattoo has halted play once. To us, if you have a tat you better have something else about you that makes up for it.

In the end it's your decision. Enough people have them so it's easy enough to find validation. We've never found a need to mark ourselves or punch extra holes in our skin. I've never heard of anyone being turned down for not having a tat.

I forgot to mention that boob tats on women are a bit of a turn off for us. Putting a tat on the perfection that is a boob is like spraying graffiti on a Michelangelo sculpture to give it a touch of color.

To me... tattoos are an outward expression of your inner-self. So it should be meaningful to you - and who cares what anyone else thinks.

Yes, I've seen some BAD tattoos ... and some tattoos which I just think to myself, "Damn -they're going to regret that when they're old" - like my friend who got a bunch of comic-book heroes tattoo'ed all over his body.

The only ones which I find to be a "turn-off" are the ones which imply an ugly message --- hate-messages like nazi symbols or klan-symbols & white-supremists messages are a total "NO" in my world... heck, even racial-pride tattoos would make me think twice about hanging out with 'em.

Flowers are always good. Seeing the top portion of a flower rising over the edge of a sleeveless shirt gets me stirred.

Can't say how much is too much as I have not yet seen a woman who has make me think, "too much decoration".

I have a lower back tattoo (you can kinda see it in my profile pic) and I enjoy looking at well placed well done tattoo. I've seen a lot of awful tattoos but I just try to overlook them. I do find it a turn off if someone is covered and that would be a deal breaker for me.

Have to agree with this... Would be a definite deal breaker... I've seen a lot of tattoos in my career -- working in corrections and labor and delivery, I've seen a few tattoos that make me shake my head and wonder why in the hell they'd ever put that on their body. To each their own and if they want to express their views publicly, so be it, but don't expect everyone to like it.

Dave and I have also thought about this... Who knows if or when we'll have it done.

A body covered in more ink than skin would most likely be a deal breaker. I love tattoos. I think it is definitely body art, unless it looks like it was done in a prison or on a street corner. Some of those are hideous.

We played with a couple once, and the woman had a tattoo on her breast. It was not the most attractive thing we've ever seen (read: age and gravity).

One of the things that really don't impress me are facial piercings and implants like these. Beware of some pretty gruesome videos and pictures contained within...
