I started trimming just a little after I had to shave for a vasectomy 10+ years ago. So it wasn't really bare, just not super hairy. My wife never really cared, but after we started swinging (and I shaved bare) she has grown to like the hairlessness down there and would probably now be turned off by a ball of fur.

I don't like hair in my mouth, but would rather see some hair on the area of skin above the private parts. Otherwise it just seems sort of pre-pubescent to me. I want to have the feeling I'm with a grownup, not with a child. Plus, at least a patch of hair lends visual interest and contrast.

The dichotomy is interesting. In the U.S., a woman being hairy on legs/armpits is almost a social faux pas. Fuse notes (not singling you out, or saying you're wrong Fuse!) a hairless man is potentially pre-pubescent. But, a hairless woman in our society isn't viewed as being pre-pubescent. Odd, that

I've got something of a suspicion on this, myself. Only my gut feeling, could be wrong, but still.

From the point of view of the men, with most men liking little to no hair in the pubic area (hygiene and flossing during oral aside,) I think it is *precisely* because a woman with little to no hair looks almost pre-pubescent. The unconscious part of the male brain, sees that, and the unconscious starts thinking "perfect mating material, young, healthy." This translates to the "damn, that looks HOT" thought. As for shaved legs / armpits, I suspect that's more a cultural thing.

From the point of view of the women (really going on a limb, seeing as I'm not a woman,) and the finding of a completely shaved male being less attractive, it's just the opposite. The subconscious part of the female mind sees the male as being incredibly young, and therefore not good mating material. The older looking fellow, with pubic hair (trimmed, or otherwise,) is seen as being more stable, more likely to commit, and stick around to take care of the female and any offspring.

Again, just my random thoughts, partially pieced together from watching random National Geographic shows on sexuality a few months back.

Although, makes me glad I'm not a "bear skin rug" guy, I've got rather sparse chest hair, virtually no back hair, and the wife describes my butt as "fuzzy." Although, I do go for the fully shaved pubic area, she likes it, and to avoid the "bare patch in the lawn" look, I take the razor up past the navel...

I personally prefer men to look like men, not boys. At my request DH keeps things trimmed down there but there is no doubt that he is all male. I on the other hand keep things smooth. Not because he want is that way but because I prefer it that way.

Ummm... without anthropological interpretations, I just like a waxed pussy because hairs get in the way, and the feel of skin against skin is sooooo hot.

I personally do manscape myself by trimming. I tried shaving for some time, but razor burns and having my balls and shaft with bits of paper stuck to stop the bleeding wasn't too sexy.

hmmm go back to manscaping its soo much sexier.. use a ladies shaver its much safer... gets SHICK SILK EFFECTS RAZOR.. its got these little protector thingies on it .. you dont cut yourself :-)

Mrs. Ekies and I agree with The Fuse...we like some hair to ward off that pre-pubescent look.

Mrs. Ekies likes hair on a man's head (the big one) and the crotch area neatly trimmed with the scrotum, perineum and base of the penis shaved. Shorten and thin the hair above the penis and the top of the legs and she's found her perfect crotch.
