Pubic Hair Fashion 2009

Now that we're up to 75 couples it's time to check in again.

About half of the men are trimmed
Women are mostly shaved

Men:
Shaved - 40.0% (up from 27.4%)
Trimmed - 50.7% (down from 58.6%)
Natural - 9.3% (down from 14%)

Women:
Shaved - 57.3% (about the same as last year's 57.5%)
Trimmed - 34.7% (slightly up from 32.8%)
Natural - 8.0% (down from last year's 9.7%)

And well over half (61.3%) of our couples sport matching pubic haircut lengths which is up from last year's 53.8%.

The big change is in what men are doing with their pubic hair with a big jump in shaved with significant drops in both trimmed and natural. Women's hairstyles seem to be staying about the same.

Spring is starting here in the Northern hemisphere and we're up to almost half of the previous survey's size now that we're up to 92 couples so it's time to check in again.

Men:
Shaved - 42.4% (up from 27.4%)
Trimmed - 44.6% (down from 58.6%)
Natural - 13.0% (down from 14.0%)

Women:
Shaved - 58.7% (slightly up from last year's 57.5%)
Trimmed - 32.6% (almost identical to last year's 32.8%)
Natural - 8.7% (slightly down from last year's 9.7%)

And well over half (62.0%) of our couples sport matching pubic haircut lengths which is up from last year's 53.8%.

In women's genital tonsorial choices what's suprising is how consistant things have been between the two years. The differences are within rounding and sampling error.

The numbers that really changed show a major trend in men's hair trimming choices. Leaving their pubic hair natural has stayed about the same for men with that being the preference for about 1/8th of men in both years. The big change is in that 7/8ths who do fashion their nether locks. Last year we had about a 2:1 ratio in favor of trimmed. This year the two styles are effectively tied.

Men:

• Shaved - 43.2% (up from 27.4%)
• Trimmed - 43.2% (down from 58.6%)
• Natural - 13.5% (down from 14.0%)

Women:

• Shaved - 59.5% (slightly up from last year's 57.5%)
• Trimmed - 30.6% (almost identical to last year's 32.8%)
• Natural - 9.9% (slightly down from last year's 9.7%)

And well over half (62.2%) of our couples sport matching pubic haircut lengths which is up from last year's 53.8%.

This year the two styles are tied at 43.2%.

I keep the boys shaved trim the rest. She is mostly shave except short landing strip it's more of a signal that your close to the fun spot

With Summer now officially here and people in the Northern hemisphere doing whatever trimming and shaving they consider necessary for beach season it's time for another summary...

Men:
Shaved - 43.5% (up from last year's 27.4%)
Trimmed - 44.9% (down from last year's 58.6%)
Natural - 11.6% (down a little from last year's 14.0%)

Women:
Shaved - 62.3% (up from last year's 57.5%)
Trimmed - 29.0% (down last year's 32.8%)
Natural - 8.7% (slightly down from last year's 9.7%)

Well over half (63.8%) of our couples sport matching pubic haircut lengths which is up from last year's 53.8%.

There's now a distinct trend in women's haircuts showing up. We have a slight drop in women leaving their pubic hair natural but going fully shaved has had a major bump up in 2009 with most of that difference coming from women who previously trimmed.

The major trend in men's hair trimming choices continues. Leaving their pubic hair natural has stayed at about one man in eight. But 2009 has shown a major change for those who don't choose to leave their pubes untouched. Where we used to have about a 2:1 ratio in favor of trimmed over totally shaved, this year the two styles are virtually tied.
