When I started shaving I was concerned about guys in the hockey locker room. I have played with them long enough, and have several longtime friends, who had no qualms about makeing a smart ass comment in the shower - So, when it came up I told them I lost a bet to the wife, and once I shaved the BJ #'s skyrocketed...which is also true .....they are all just more jealous now.

Shaving the junk was no problem, when I first started doing it was immediately after a surgery requiring it. I am not big on public locker rooms so my sons where the only guys to see it. The younger one (11 at the time) just assumed that it was because of the surgery. The older one (14 then) asked me about it. I just responded that "Mama likes it". That ended that. He decided to do it for his girlfriend recently. We found out because his brother (now 14) figured it out when he found the razor and a bunch of pubes in the shower. Let the teasing begin..... Actually it was more difficult to explain shaving a very hairy chest after 18 years of marriage. |

![]() Having been thru alot of surgeries and procedures this past year or so, I tell my doctors/nurses everything. I may ask certain people (family or friends) to leave the room depending on the questions. Saying why I shave (don't) is not even an issue. Unless the dentist is asking. ![]() My health is more important than my pride or shame. | |

I agree with the masses. I've never been asked in the locker room or anywhere else. Let them think what they may. Having a shaved sack and a well-groomed area is just like having a well-groomed beard...pleasant on the eyes.

I have been shaving for many years. No-one has ever commented on my smooth appearence when they have seen me in the showers at my golf club nor has my doctor said anything to me. I have had the odd funny look from one or two of my friends but that's all. Brian |

No guy is going to ask you as no guy is going to admit looking at your junk in a locker room You're right. The other guys will just talk about you when you're not around. Seriously, I don't think you need to be concerned. They will probably think you're making some woman/women very happy. Sorry guys, but if you have ever played hockey and been in the change room with a bunch of hockey players nothing is sacred. Not only will this hygene pactice be noticed, but all will be aware almost immediately as the first guys that sees you undress will point your shaved balls out to all. I just say don't you guys no that pubic hair holds the stench of sweat and its amazing how the volume of your sex life goes up when you shave, pretty soon lots of guys are trying it. Also like mentioned by someone else I say both the wife and I prefer it smooth and alot of people are envious. Cheers Burton |

I've never been asked. I don't shave bald but I keep it very short. My wife don't like it bald. According to my friends, most guys I know my age and below seem to shave or trim. When I was in college it was rare, only a few of us did it. But over the last 10 years it has become more popular. |

Heck, I was examined by my gyn the other day, and nary a word about my nether regions hairlessness. I'm sure he sees that a lot these days.

I think part of the reason guys won't / don't ask if they notice someone shaved, is the fear of being thought of as being "gay." After all, it isn't OK for a guy to notice a guys body (at least not in most places), other than to avoid bumping into them when going past. Myself, I've been shaving (sort of off and on) for around 10 years now (got "fixed" shortly before getting married) So far, nobodies said anything to me. Haven't gotten undressed at the Drs office (haven't needed to), so no worries there. Frankly, I've gotten a "don't really care what you think" attitude, so when I'm up at the rec center locker room, after showering after the pool, I don't bother putting the suit back on, or wrapping a towel. If the other men in there can't deal with a naked male, they should get out of the locker room. |
