| Ok, I never said that I wouldn't be with him because he doesn't have a beard, if that's what your meaning. And, for those women that won't be with a man because he has a beard, well, they are just stupid. And, that is all I have to say on the subject.

Beard or no beard, I personally don't care, since looks and personality are all weighed in their totality for me. If the beard doesn't look good and the personality isn't winning me over to get past that, then that's that. Stupid doesn't come into play on that choice. For the record, my spouse doesn't wear a goatee because it's full of gray which makes him look older. I liked my spouse with a goatee; I thought it was hot. But it's his choice. Do whatever makes you happy regarding your facial hair, as everything with swinging ends up being a YMMV issue. | |

Dave switches between a full beard and a goatee every now and then, but in the 25 years we've been together, he's never shaved his mustache. He's never been turned down for sex, and if he did, he'd live. Most men in this area have either goatee's or beards. Must be the cool weather here. It's all a personal preference. If someone preferred someone who was clean shaven, so be it. No big deal. Maybe someone, someday will turn me down because I don't have the blond hair they're wanting. *shrug* So be it. |

How can a question of "Beard or no Beard?" rile people up so much? This is one of the friendliest websites anywhere, folks, and we keep it that way by not insulting people. Please don't suggest someone else is stupid or insult anyone in any way. If you can't post to a thread without insulting someone, it would be appreciated by me and others if you'd just not post. Thank you for your understanding. Mr. Alura |

| Let's try to keep it civil folks. Let's keep in mind that sometimes things can be taken wrong when written, things don't always come out the way we mean them. Don't take what is posted personally and if you have a bone to pick with someone, please do it in private. |

To get back on the topic. I personally have a preference against facial hair. I do like a nicely kept goatee, but very rarely do I like a full beard. This goes back to my childhood as my mother would tell you. When I was very young I was VERY scared of men with full beards (there's a lot more to it that I won't go into), but it does stand that even now I'm not fond of full facial hair and I would likely refuse to sleep with someone because I was not attracted to them based on their facial hair. Just as much as I would decline sleeping with someone for any reason that I was not attracted to them. |

"Beard" is also the term for women that pose as romantic partners with gay men that haven't come out of the closet yet. http://icanhascheezburger.files.word...e_you_know.jpg (Not very relevant, but figured a change-up was in order) |

Hmmm.... I grew a goatee when I was 18, and had it when I met my first wife. (don't even ask what year that was!) When I went into the Navy and got out of boot, I grew a full beard. Then the Navy did away with beards on January 1, 1985. When I got out of the Navy in 1986, my ex-wife said, "you are going to grow your beard back aren't you?" My kids didn't know who I was, I had been at sea for 18 months. I have had a beard ever since. A few years ago I screwed up trimming, and had to shave it off. I looked in the mirror, and said, egads! And I managed to have a respectable beard going when I met my wife a few days later. Everyone has their preference. If someone rejects me because I have a beard, no problem S |

As everyone else has stated it is a preference, and I happen to be one of those women who likes a nice beard on a man. Do what makes you happy, some will like it, some won't, but what is important here is whether or not you and your SO like it.
