We normally keep a good tan during the warm months (April-November here) since we're outdoors. Since we're going to Mexico in March, we've stepped up the tanning by going to a "superbed", because I got blistered when we went to Mexico last May (didn't have any base tan). This is our first season using a tanning bed (started in December), and we go 2-3 times a week. I've been using an Aloe based moisturizer after tanning, and have convinced hubby to do the same. It still seems that after a few hours, my skin feels dry. This is unusual for me, since I've always had oily, olive-type skin. So, I'd like some tips from expert tanners on skin care. I did find a bronzer that I like that doesn't have a weird smell nor make my skin feel like it's crawling - Revival. Tried a few before I could tolerate one of those bronzers. It's pricey, but worth it to me. Thanks! Mrs. D |

My advise is to go pale. Sorry, not what you want to hear, but I gave up on tanning because I just burn too easily. Maybe try asking the people at the tanning salon what they recommend as a moisturizer. I would think that they should have some good suggestions. Have fun. ~SS |

Ted has become a tanning bed junkie...he loves going and we've even looked into buying one for the house. He uses Australian Gold ...he says that there is a built in moisturizer and bronzing agent and he's never had any problems with dry feeling skin. Oh, it has a pleasant smell as well. You can get it at Wal-Mart and other places. He tanning salon he goes to also has it, but at twice the price. Teresa |
