I've been waxed professionally once, and it hurt. Not horribly... but still hurt. Some of the lingering pain was in my wallet area. I tried last weekend to do it myself, but after pulling off two strips on my upper thigh Surrender decided to use other methods. I could not see going any further.

I find the whole hair removal process quite annoying. I could just closely trim, but I like the smooth feeling I get (for about five minutes) when I get a good shave, plus I feel as though people expect the bare look and feel. I leave a landing strip though...like some people, I think having NO pubic hair makes one seem a bit, well, prepubescent.

I hear you there!!! My first professional wax was around $150 and after that, I decided to invest in a waxing pot, some good quality wax and muslin strips. Clever positioning and help from D helps keep me hair free for about $200 a year, if not less.

The type of wax I use comes off without any pain whatsoever. It's Gigi Brazilian Hard Body Wax. I use it everywhere I wax, even my brows.

Maybe I'm just a wimp, but that is exactly the same wax I bought and it hurt like hell!!!
I tryed it three times thinking I would get "used" to it..... nope, still hurt. I have resigned myself to shaving.

$150...Holy crap. It seems your tolerance for pain knows many levels. My wax wasn't the "total" Brazilian, since I leave my butt area alone. Maybe that is why it cost only $50. Now I feel cheap. But c'mon, we're talking about something that has to be done every few weeks. It didn't even last that long for me. I have hair color and highlights, and don't even spend $150 on my hair! (Well, I do, but only once every eight or so weeks, and only when I do the highlights does it cost a little more than that.)

I tried a microwave wax that does not use muslin strips. It came with an numbing oil, an oil that causes the wax to adhere to hair and not skin (not sure that worked), and a soothing oil for afterwards. I might try another kind of wax before giving up for good. I confess to using Nair, but yes, I can confirm it does bad things to you -- and then I end up shaving anyway when the hair isn't all gone. Annoying, irritating and time-consuming.

But when it comes down to it, when we wax, we are pulling our hair out by the roots in a very sensitive area. I say this with no intent to insult you at all, or anything negative...but it seems unusual to me for someone to not experience pain when doing this, so I wouldn't be surprised to find you're in the minority there. Lucky girl.

I might try that wax you mentioned...but I don't want to invest in the warmer etc. only to give up on it.

Our threesome friend loves to shave me himself. He enjoys lathering me up and using a razor to shave me completely bald. My husband would like a full bush but he's used to me being shaved when it's bare. We don't see our friend that often these days and I let it grow when he's away.

We offer the Body Bare on our site. It’s a kit with the trimmer to be used for the foliage, a brush for the talc and the Body Bare shaver. It is a dry shaver.

Once you have it down to nubs.. And I mean nubs, then use the talc and the body bare. We both use it. Very smooth. NICE!

Yes I agree with the board I have not had any luck with the hair removal creams. I use skintimate shaving gel and a good razor.....but I shave mostly every other day keeps everything nice and smooth and never have any problems with rash or bumps . Hubby loves it says feels so soft and smooth

We also use the Gigi Brazilian Hard Body Wax -- if you use the slow grow cream stuff (I'm sure there is an official name that I don't know), it seems to grow back slower and finer. I can tolerate it ... it's not painless. I had it done professionally once, and it was $80. Now Mr. Fun does it for me ... I admit to saying phrases and words I wouldn't dare say to a professional ...

I also use the Gigi Brazilian hard wax with the muslim strips, and I really like the results. The first time I tried it at home was difficult, and it can be a little scary, pouring hot wax on your kitty and ripping the hair out, but if done quickly and in the right direction it can be done with much less pain. It's not painless but its bearable and the benefits far outweigh the discomfort.

After two sessions doing it on my own it takes me only 30mins to do the whole thing, after which I put on balmex to reduce the redness, and after a couple of hours i'm good as new down there, its awesome feels great and tastes even better (so i'm told facelick ) Plus the expense of doing it at a salon is insane, and not all who "say" they do brazilian can really do it (efficiently and with minimal discomfort)

I find that the lower you keep the wax temperature, the least pain is produced. I still stand by my statement that I don't feel pain when I wax...some slight discomfort but not "pain". My idea of pain is childbirth, my tolerance pain has built up incredibly since experiencing natural childbirth and gallstones.

I use the wax and muslin strips and keep the wax on the Low setting on my pot so it's quite thick but warm. I guess after repeated waxing, the discomfort gets less and less. Even with my first waxing in a salon I was laying there and she kept waiting for me to scream or yelp.

Have you been putting talc or babypowder on before adding the wax?
Try that first. helps take away some of the discomfort. Keep in mind also shaving makes the hair course. after a few times waxing the hair will become finer. With waxing also you have to keep in mind that you wax today to get rid of the hair you shaved away 4 days ago. Then the hair you shaved away 2 days ago will start to appear. Make two trips to a waxing salon or at home. wax wait 3-4 days then do it again. yes it takes some planning but after that if you stick to it you will only need to wax once every 3-4 weeks.
Or if you are spending money on good razors why not look into lazor hair removal. it may seem steep at first, but think of time and pain. I am looking into it and for about $400.00 I can get a full brazilian done. I need to use top of the line razors or else I am in pain so that adds up fast.

well i tried nare once it did the job but it also made me chaped and it burned and the wife laughed so that was my experiance with it .lol
