I know this topic has been discussed before, but I didn't see my questions answered, so here I go...
I'm considering getting a bikini wax or maybe even a Brazillian.

I'm wondering how often you have to get waxing done? Do you do it once and then get touch-ups? Or do you have to get completely waxed again every so often?

Forgive me if these are silly questions, but I have no experience with waxing at all.

Although I'm a man so can't say from first hand experience. My wife gets it done every 4-6 weeks, Brazilian style Ouch they all scream!

She says it hurts less as they use different waxes etc to the normal bikini waxing and also gets easier each time.

I started waxing my bikini line last year- I don't want a Brazilian, myself- and have had nothing but ingrown hairs since, and I hate the way it looks, let alone the way it feels. You might look into other options, too, like laser or pulsed light. These are more expensive, but if you tend to get ingrowns it may be worth it. I'd start with the bikini wax and if yoiu like it, go for a Brazilian later. I have heard that the tushie part of the Brazilian actually hurts less than when they wax the lips, but my bottom is hyper sensitive, and I gave up on the pulsed light method because it brought me to tears when she did that area....and I usually have a high tolerance for pain. I'm a guy, but I get waxed. I get waxed about every 6 -8 weeks. While I prefer to be smooth, I don't have the time to get waxed more often. Also it needs to be long enough for the wax to grab onto. As far as the pain, it really depends. Sometimes it hurts like hell, other times it's not bad at all. No ryme or reason.

Actually I'm very curious about the brazilian wax. Mr. Smith & I are getting married soon then going to Japan for our honeymoon. I want to not only treat him with being hairless (since I know he likes it ) but I also don't want to have to worry about shaving. I can't stand razor burn. Pain isn't an issue here...but the itching from it is

So, I was curious about the whole process & find myself with many questions about it:

Is it quick? How much does it hurt? How long does it take to grow back? Does it become irritated & give you bumps like shaving does?

We wax each other, believe it or not. We've both been "professionally" waxed; I can last longer because I'm less hairy to begin with. Don't kid yourself; it hurts. BUT, the wax for the "nether" regions is different, which makes a difference.

I have had no issues with ingrown hairs or otherwise. Mr. Fun, however, had one hell of a time with ingrown hairs, and has since decided he's not waxing as much off as he used to. I think it was because he cut the hair too short before beginning the wax job, but maybe it was the waxer who didn't do such a hot (no pun intended) job.

You know you love someone when you can crawl inbetween their legs and pull their hair out. Gawd.

I was professionaly waxed once and then had sticker shock from the price!

I bought a waxing pot at Sally and now do my own full Brazilians with a little help from D. I've been doing it since January and it doesn't hurt anymore. The best wax I've found is Gigi's Brazilian Hard Body Wax. I use it everywhere, even my eyebrows.

I wax about every 2 weeks if we have a lot of playtime set up but normally once a month.
