From what I do know about laser, it only works on dark hair, so if your hair down there is of a lighter shade it may not work so well. I did go get my bikini waxed the other day... the full thing... and it wasn't too bad except that she waxed more than where I normally shave and the areas that aren't used to being shaved got a bit of razor burn. |

I think it has to be 1/2" to be waxed... but it also needs to be about that long for electrolysis (not sure about the laser). |

| Posts: n/a | When you wax, the hair grows in finer each time (at least for me) so even as it's growing out, it's not stubbly or too visible. I hardly have any growth whatsoever left in the underarm region. That is pretty damn cool. Once you have waxed once, the hair only has to be 1/8 of an inch long. That's not so bad...... |

It feels like a match to my skin when she does it. I scream and then try to turn it into a positive experience by laughing like a wild woman so that I can take the pain. I grabbed the woman's ass when she first zapped me and told her that she was putting me through my first sadomasochistic experieince. The hair already grows much, much more slowly. And there is less of it. LM |

Then they wax it and treat you with the electrolysis. You have to repeat this 4 to 6 times with 4 weeks in between. This means that I have to let my hair grow 4 x 4 weeks and that would be just to annoying for me. My hair grows very slow so maybe it will take me even more time. You need 4 to 6 treatments because your hair grows in cycles and after 4 to 6 treatments all your hair has been treated. I would like to have my underlegs done because it is hard for me to get a tan there because I shave them (you peel off your skin too).

I left a "landing strip" on my muff...but had the rest zapped. That area took 4 treatments the same with my legs. Overall...ver very pleased...no more waxing..no more shaving...its great and well worth it. |

What kind of cost was involved? I haven't heard anything on costs, just many positives on the results. Thanks!

Hubby is an ex-salon owner. We had a lengthy conversation one evening with a couple who presently own and operate a "full service" salon in an upscale Dallas suburb. The one service they do NOT offer is laser. Here's why: the course training for laser techs is a two day class. The state of Texas does not have a testing or licensing requirement, although it does require testing and licensing for a person to legally be able to shampoo someone's hair. [an extreme inequity, considering...] The salon owners told us their investigation showed the "probability of" and "liability for" factors are far too high for them to risk their investment in their salon and their ongoing livelihood. The negative potential of the process is definitely a consideration. Laser can cause permanent scaring. Laser can cause permanent nerve damage. It seems unlikely a two day course in the operation of the equipment would be sufficient to result in an expertise level that potential customers should expect a tech to possess. After all, if the equipment were that simple and danger free to operate, don't you think some enterprising Japanese company would have created personal home versions so we could all "do" ourselves? While I realize the process has produced many satisfied customers, I would urge you to research the qualification process in your state for the techs, if indeed such a requirement exists. Further, I urge you to call your local Better Business Bureau and inquire about the cases when damage has occurred. They will tell you where [which salon] the damage happened - and the extent of the damage. "An ounce of prevention ...." WR ![]() |

If anyone can add to or refute the information below, please do! It's hard to get through the maze of misinformation. head bang http://electrolysisinformation.com/faqs.htm http://www.adstarweb.com/behairfree/aboutus.htm http://www.hairtell.com/ From what I've gathered so far is that electrolysis is the winner for permanent REMOVAL as opposed to Laser treatments which claim permanent REDUCTION. The two main caveats for electrolysis is that the biggest factor by far is the skill of the technician and that the use of probes as opposed to the electric tweezers is very important. Does anyone have any other input for permanent (non shaving/waxing, etc) solutions? Can I expect to find "full service" electrolysis places who will service Hairy and the two bald men? :slam" PS - Don't look now, but this is my first post. ![]() |
