I know many on this board don't agree with it but for me it was a great decision. I went from a 34c to 36d. Primary reason for the surgery was I needed to lift my sagging breasts...and while they were in there...decided to make them a little bigger. I love them. I feel real good about myself. Gave me the incentive to lose about 45lbs. I even wear 2 piece bathing suits now...which I never would before. My hubby and I researched it out before consulting a surgeon. My only change would be that I reacted to the tape (may want to get your allergies or tested for the tape) so I have a little more scarring. Not real noticable to others but I know it shows........doesn't stop me from having fun though To each his own....I'm glad I had it done and would do it again in a minute. Rhonda |

Best advice I can give you is be absolutely and 100% certain you are going to a well-qualified doctor. Check with your State Board of Medical Examiners to be certain the doctor you choose does not have any board actions - past or present. This is public info and you are entitled to it, and if your doctor is free and clear, he really won't mind you checking, and might even commend you for doing so. Obviously, if he isn't, he'll have a different attitude. Some doctors come across as being "the best" because of fancy advertising and such...can be quite misleading to the average consumer. If it is what you want and what will make you feel great about yourself, go for it. Again, if I could afford it, I'd have all kinds of little nips and tucks done. No doubt about it. - EBF ![]() | |

Make sure you choose a surgeon who is 100% reliable, reputable and qualified: your health has to be priority one. And make sure that the person you're doing it for you. If surgery makes you feel better about yourself, that's fine. After all, it's your body, and you live with it. But if there are less invasive ways that might help you to feel equally good about yourself, then consider those too.

I can only encourage women to make SURE you are doing it for the right reasons. Women are beautiful without implants. I would never want Shannon to get them. I personally think they are a turn off. I also don't like to be able to count the ribs on a women. Funny, when we see an dog with protruding ribs, we think it is ill or has been mistreated and we feel pity for it. Yet a large portion of society has encouraged this same look for our women? My mother had MAJOR back and neck problems afterwards (she was 40 and her body was not accustomed to the added forward weight). Both my sisters were in their early twenties and Daddy paid for them. One sister was VERY small beforehand and had a complex although she is VERY pretty, college educated, intelligent and attractive, now she's proportionate. The other just made her avaerage ones bigger, loves to flaunt her body for attention, but has the IQ of a clam (Yes, I know, she's my sister and that's mean). She is also pretty but has a VERY unattractive attitude, and bigger boobs aren't going to make her any more attractive or alter her life for the better. I understand from the start women wanting them to overcome deformities and such, and have NO problems with that. I just worry that a LOT of women get them for the wrong reason(s). If you need an shot to your ego, take a college course and expand you mind. If you feel you are unattractive because of petite breasts, look deeper and make sure that's the REAL reason. Are you trying to impress or attract those who are going to judge you on breast size? Is this going to make you a better person? This is of course a man's view, but I would never have pectoral or buttock implants! If you have $5000 to blow, pay for a child to have a deformity corrected. I GUARANTEE that will give you more of an ego boost than saline or silicone! And you will remember it for the REST of your life.

My first time I was 20 years old and had it done for my job at the time. I was an exotic dancer and it was required to make more money which I did I was a 38B and went to a 38C. Now like the porn industry the dancing world thought bigger was better and that would mean more money. So I then went to 38C - 40DD which was very hard to fit into clothing and I felt uncomfortable. Once I quit dancing I had them changed to a 40D and I have felt much more comfortable. The best advice I give women is just do it !! You will not regret it ever. Why not if feel you want to look better all the power to you. You will have a great feeling of confidence to wear clothes and of course your swimsuit. It's all about choice. ( . ) Although I love all breasts , small , big , medium , real or enhanced it's all good! |

| Swingers Board Addict | Thanks to everyone for the input! I have been researching the procedure for about 2 - 3 months now. I have selected one of the best surgeons in the midwest - that is according to other plastic surgeons. I have heard most of the reasons on why not to do it, and those in favor of. Overall, I am a few inches above 5' with a small build. Except, after having two children, my hips have widened quite a bit. Now I look like I have the worlds widest ass. I was very surprised when I was at my consult appointment, that by adding just a little to my bust made me look proportional again. I totally agree that really large breasts are not for me. Before kids I was a large A, small B. After kids, I have two A sized flapjacks on my chest. After surgery, we are expecting to be a large B. However, the Dr said she does not guarantee a cup size. I will keep everyone posted of the results - Early March is what is scheduled. Thanks to everyone! |

It’s going to be that way for a while longer. The FDA recently rejected an application by Inamed Corp.* to resume producing silicone-gel implants, which were taken off the market in 1992. The silicone implants, which feel more lifelike (read: squishy) than their saline friends, have, on occasion, ruptured and caused autoimmune problems in their . . . owners? Is that the right word? Carriers? Hosts? Mothers? Whatever they're called, the FDA issued a new set of guidelines that silicone-implant manufacturers must meet before their products are made available. Breasts everywhere are silently thankful for this decision – a study that has been tracking Inamed implant recipients for three years revealed that 46 percent needed additional surgery because of painful scar tissue and other complications, and up to 25% had their implants removed or replaced. Cringe cringe cringe cringe cringe cringe cringe! — Carrie Hill Wilner (* - The whole thing sounds kind of Brazil, no?) |

Standard plastic surgery advice: If you think that it is going to majorly transform your life, you are likely to be disappointed. The candidates who end up being most satisfied with any PS procedure are those who are basically satisifed with themselves but have one well-deliniated aspect of their appearance about which they have been moderately unhappy for some time. 2. Surgery is like anything else, the more of it you do, the better you get at it. So, obviously, look for someone who is board-certified and who does only plastic surgery. Breast augmentation isn't sufficiently technically demanding that you need to find someone who only does that procedure, but it's a good idea to find someone who does a lot of them (as opposed to, say, facial procedures). 3. Silicone implants offer significant advantages over saline, and the epidemiology linking silicone leakage to auto-immune disorders (or anthing else serious) hasn't panned out. The next generation of silicone implants (when they are approved) will probably have non-trivial cosmetic and functional upgrades, so it might be worth waiting a few years if you are undecided at the moment. 4. Personally, I think that they can look and even feel very good, if they are very well done.

A friend of mine had the surgery, she was a DDD and after loosing all the weight she badly needed a lift and tuck. Well when they went into do it, they discovered that she would be smaller than a training bra. So her husband choose to have implants put in. She went back to a DDD. I am in the process of the gastric myself. I know that in 2 years I will be due for a tummy tuck and a boob job. I am a D now, and want to stay a C/D size. I think that those people who are tiny waisted and want to be huge on top look funny. Like as if they are going to fall over on their face. Average and porportionate with the body is best. Do what you feel is best for you. No matter what others think, its your body, not theirs. If it makes you happy, go for it...you only live once! ~~Jenn
