I have been shaving but lately I have gotten such terrible bumps and such that I am thinking of waxing the not so tender parts. Any suggestions? ~~K |

There have been long threads on this subject many times. I reckon Julie will be along presently to tell you where to look to read them... ![]() -- Bear (who has seen so many shaved pussies in the past several years, that he now longs for a few that actually have a nice bush for a change... ![]() |

![]() Here's a search page with 'shaving' threads And one with 'wax' threads Search tip for everyone: when using search, try 'Search titles only' in the Search Options (lower left.) You'll get fewer false hits that way and you'll find what you're looking for much faster. -B

Your hair follicles are active in cylces. Not all are active at the same time and they have to be active to be killed. We've been twice. There is definitely less than there was the first time. The advantage is permanence and speed. Unfortunatley, if it remains on the 12th we won't be able to make it. I haven't been back to the thread yet. |

It comes in various forms both a powder that you mix with water and a cream that you just sqeeze outta the bottle. It's in the shaving products area for men. If they have a seperate section for ethnic products, it would be in there. It's "nick named" the magic powder for black mens head's and women's private parts. by people who use it, or at least the one's that I know. It is basically the same thing as nair only *for me* not as potent or something. Nair and that type of stuff bother's me really bad, but this stuff doesn't. It doesn't seem to work that well for my hubby, but for me it causes a baby smooth appearance afterwards. Hope this helps ![]()

I've never heard that before. I've also heard that it does grow back eventually regardless. But how long does it stay gone? And how many times do you have to go to get it to stay gone for that long? I know electrolysis is like an ever couple of weeks thing for about 8mos usually before it's totally gone, but they claim it is totally permanent (moreso than lasering). |

Blonde/light gray hair basically doesn't absorb any. It's "supposed" to be as permanent as electrolysis if its done right. Approximatley 5 times over a 4 to 5 month period. |

| mildly abnormal | I prefer to shave. In the beginning I had some irritation but after a few weeks of keeping up with it I had no problems.

| Swingers Board Addict Join Date: Jun 2003 Posts: 1,991 Location: Bliss Status: Female | Hubby and I attended a lifestyle couples dinner social last weekend. A couple we know in the group owns a multi-service salon. We were talking to the female toward the end of the evening about this very topic. She performs Brazilian wax treatments at their salon. She said they do approximately 300 treatments per month at their salon. She said they do not offer laser treatments as she doesn't feel the $1 million in business insurance they carry is sufficient to cover the potential harm/damage that can occur to a customer from laser treatments. We were more than a bit surprised to learn the State of Texas has not set up standards nor are they at the present time requiring certification for laser 'technicians'. If a salon has the equipment for laser, a one day course is what many have prior to performing the service the first time. This couple feels that is certainly inadequate preparation - and not only does the procedure have the potential to burn a person quite severely, but permanent nerve damage can also be done. Kind of scary the state doesn't test people before they are allowed to perform this service. And really strange considering a person must pass testing to receive licensing/certification to so much as shampoo a customer's hair. BTW, both the male and female of this couple are quite fair and naturally blonde - and they concurred that laser would not work for either of them. She says she does "complete" Brazilian wax - for males and females. As complete as they would wish to have done. [I say this because I remember someone saying there were areas their salon would not do.] I myself have experienced neither procedure. I am just passing on the information they shared with us. ![]() Last edited by wrnakedru : 10-24-2003 at 04:02 AM. |

I'm very much a red head, sadly one with facial hair issues. Electrolysis just hurts to darn much. Laser is great but if you have light or grey hair, the effect isn't permanent. The "charge" is only carried by darker hairs. When lasering first started out, they would wax your hair and put in a carbon icky black cream that carried the charge to your folicle. However, I think it caused scaring in some people. I've yet to remove the hair from my nether regions. Bear seems to enjoy the coverage. I do however insist on triming. -- Bunny |

I use shaving creme first, and if there are any left, baby oil. Also, use a quality razor (i use the mens mach 3, its great!) Baby oil is also *great* for legs, and don't have to use creme first. I'd like to find out more about brazillian waxing... has anyone had it done? Seems to me like it would hurt like... well, yeah. |
