So many of us shave our pubes (guys and girls) in this lifestyle. Do you think if shaving goes out of vogue in general, would you stop shaving because the "in" thing became a full bush? Or do you think you'd keep it shaved? If shaving went out of general fashion, would it still be in fashion for swingers? Maybe some of you who can remember swinging in the 70's will fill us in on what going down was like back in the day of big bushes... would YOU want to go back to that? |

Occasionally, I might get a wild hair and decide to leave a landing strip . . . But my "lawn maintenance" preferences will not be affected by any trends! **all puns are intentional** =) |

We think it is important to do what makes us feel good about ourselves and if following the trend is what does it then we'll go with it. Neither of us are fully shaved but we do keep it very neat and clean. As far as others, we are not turned off by the occasional "big bush" we have seen...it just makes it different and that is one of the great things about it. |

He doesn't like it when I shave it, but I do it anyway before we go to the clubs...I tell him that I'm doing it for the other woman's pleasure and he's okay with it. |

Even now, I shave every other day or I can't stand the itch of the hair growing back in. I don't know if it went out of fashion in general, if it would go out of fashion for swingers...if it did, I suppose I'd just have to be an odd ball in swinging. I've always had a person theory about shaving habits...Back when swim suits covered more women didn't concern themselves so much about shaving in the bikini area. As the fashions of swim suits became more and more revealing women started shaving more and more of the pubic area (who would want hair sticking out? )...so, unless swim suits start going back to a fashion of covering more up or hair showing in the pubic area becomes vogue, then I think shaving will remain in fashion. If you take a look back at the Playboy models you will find that most of them in 91 and 92 still had "bush" but it was being highly trimmed at that time. By 93 there was no more bush and it took off with swingers withing a year or so. Bush has been coming back. Personally I am happy about that but it is what works for others. My choice does not make it right for you. |

But, seriously, thanks for adding, I was wondering what those who'd been around swinging long enough to remember the bush would have to say. So, you've been seeing the re-emergence of the bush lately? | |

You know me, it is all about the computer. ![]() I have all the centerfolds for every year right here on the computer. ![]() Much easier to check them out that way and a lot cheaper too! Yes, been seeing more Bush lately and did not even have to go to the white house to see it. |

Speaking for myself, I tend to trim (not shave), but only for heat-management reasons. Yeah, yeah. Snicker if you like, I'll wait. I'm a pretty big guy, and getting hot "down there" is a valid concern. The less hair I have, the cooler I stay. The cooler I stay, the happier I am.

| Swingers Board Addict | Interesting topic. To answer the question directly, I can't see us going back the way of the bush. But that's not why I think it's interesting. A few posts back, TNT opined that it may remain popular in swinging circles even if it went out of fashion in general. How do we know it's in fashion in general? I mean, outside of swinging and newdie beaches (Sandy Hook baby, it'll be warm enough soon!) and the occasional locker room I don't see a whole lota newd folks. I've looked, but never once have I seen a neeked person in the grocery store. I keep telling my neighbor I wanna see her naked but she hasn't got drunk enough yet lol. I don't think Playmate of the Month counts as "in general" either. Mr. knb |

| Abstraction Distraction | Man, what a great thread!! Mr. Fuse and I did not start shaving until we started swinging. Now, I am with Theresa -- I have to shave every other day or the itch drives me bonkers. If bush were in, I'd be torn now. For comfort, my preference would be to keep it trimmed enough that heat and sweat were not a concern, but long enough so that itch wasn't a factor. Problem is, I've been going gray in some "strategic" areas... so I like getting rid of that too. Hmm... what I would do... I don't know!
