Hood piercing next Tuesday

Good luck. I went last weekend. I was home alone by myself and bored and I went "Well...might as well go...if I plan it, I'll chicken out." So...off I went. I went to the best place in town that everyone absolutely raves about. I paid, the piercer (Lex) put me completely at ease...she was wonderful...AND...I am not anatomically suited for it. She tried everything she could to set it up so it would be safe and would work. It didn't work.

Never in my life have I sworn more at my private parts than I did just then. Haha. Usually...my clit and I are best buddies, but I spent the rest of the night cursing my teeny tiny clit hood.

OMG, I'm so sorry that happened. That sucks to get so close to it and then to get shut down. I decided this morning that I'm getting it done for my birthday this year. I came home from work and started researching places. I found one downtown that seems good. So I'm so excited and all amped up for it.

Now my biggest fear is that the same thing happens to me as what happened to Ohash.

That sucks ohash and I am sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you! For you to get up the courage to get it done and GO was a big step..Trust me I know..I have now been there TWICE and hopefully won't have to have it redone anymore.

Just let her mull it over for awhile, and encourage her to talk to as many women as possible who've had it done. There's really no better recommendation than from those who have one.

They say not to have sex for a while, but it is up to how comfortable you feel..The piercing is sore for a few days so having sex may not be comfortable. When I got my piercing done, I did it during my monthly cycle so that way I knew I was already broken and that way by the time it stopped being sore it would be time for me to be ready to go. The actual healing process of a hood piercing is 4 months. It is a long process but well worth the pleasure. Just be careful after the 4 months of changing the jewelry, and make sure that you have purchased good jewelry cause if it falls out and grows back like mine did then you will be off to get it done a second time.

OK, I'm certified as an EMT and things like that usually don't make me squirm, but watching that made me rethink my "maybe someday I can do that" stance. OUCH, that looks so painful!

Tam had her right nipple pierced for my birthday several years ago. I'd love for her to have her hood pierced. And I've let her know a few times Maybe at the meetup, all you girls with piercings can let her know how much you enjoy them And we do have half a day sunday before we fly out

Ohasha, Don't feel bad...mine didn't work either.

We made the trip down to Atlanta yesterday, and I was told it was too dangerous for mine to be done because there wasn't enough skin there. Apparently, I'm an "outtie" and there's really not much covering the clit at all. They explained that nerve damage can happen if there isn't enough skin, so it's important to do the cotton swab test to make sure you have enough.

I wasn't terribly upset. I got my tattoo redone instead.

Hi y'all, new here, thanks for having us! Wanted to weigh in on the hood piercing. I had one nipple done first, liked it, then went back and had the other nipple & a vertical hood piercing. Yikes, I about came out of the chair! But then it was cool, we actually went walking around town afterwards. I felt really hot knowing it was there & only we knew about it. Aftercare was very important, and we sailed through it without a hitch. Turns out that although it seemed to keep me wet all the time (which was annoying at first) it didn't really enhance the sex. I eventually took it out and it healed up real fast. One nipple piercing "drifted" after a few years and I took that out as well, for esthetic reasons. I will probably have it redone, when I get my courage up again. I just love the look and it's so much fun to tug on! Need some new jewelry though, time to go shopping! I've never had any negative reactions, other than from friends I showed it to that couldn't get past the idea of the pain & didn't believe me when I said it only lasted a nanosecond. I think secret jewelry is hot! Love the look under a t-shirt that makes folks wonder what's going on!

I just thought I would throw in my 2 cents in also. I have a vertical hood piercing and it's not what I expected at all. Please know though that I'm probably in the minority.
I had a great piercer but the piercing hurt so bad. Not for long but I did go into mild shock because of it. It healed super fast, a week or so. I love the thought that I have one, that in itself is sexy but reallly it hasn't done a thing for my sex life or orgasms. If anything, it has slowed them down. Now, I don't like direct pressure. I cannot put a vibrator on it at all. I've had it for about 6 months and I'll probably take it out at the end of summer. We also had a "drunk sex" accident that caused the ball to be pulled through the hole. Hurt like a sob and it was embarresing to go back to the piercer to have them shove the ball back through the hole. Squeamish yet? It sucked soooo bad. Anyway, just my opinion is all.

Sprout here... I got my vertical hood about 5 months ago, it hurt like crazy while she did it, but once it was over there was no pain at all... as soon as we finished DH & I went to a toy store, bought a couple new toys, went home and a very wild night. It didn't hurt at all, even though it was all in the same night. I love my piercing and I play with it all the time, it keeps me in an almost constant state of arousal, so whenever DH is ready to go... so am I.

I did take it out one time because I had my annual gyn appointment, and wasn't yet ready to announce to other people that it was there.... it was two days before I remembered that it was out, and it had already nearly closed up. DH had the darnedest time getting it back in, but he finally did, and it was tender for a day or two, but it's all good now and I'm still lovin' it!!!
