My first wax I've been shaving my pubic area completely bald for some time now, but I haven't been too happy with the results (ingrowns, quick hair growth, black hairs showing under the skin, bumps, etc) so I did my first wax yesterday. I was really afraid that the pain would be excruciating, but I wanted to try it because everyone tells me it's worth it.
So, I'm on the cot and the aestetician (sp?) was kind of gabbing about stuff while she was putting the wax on. Without a pause in her speech, she pressed the cloth against my skin, pulled it and then got another stick to put on more wax. I interrupted her and asked "did you just pull out some hair?" and she laughed and said "Yup, I did. It's not as painful as everyone says, is it!" I was amazed, it didn't bother! The only part that hurt was when she pulled on the area on the pubic bone, otherwise, it was really not a problem at all. When she was done (after about 15-20 minutes), my skin looked awesome! It was a little red for awhile, but other than that, is was smooth and no black hairs were showing under the skin. I'm totally sold on this process and I'm going back again in 4 weeks.
The only drawback of course is that you have to let your hair grow out before you can wax again, but I think I'll tweeze out the bikini area myself and have the rest waxed. Tweezerman pointed tweezers are really great for that.
So, I just wanted to share my experience in case you were considering waxing but were afraid because of the pain. |
