Being a body piercer for ruffly 11 years, I have done my fair share of hood peircings. As a matter of fact, I have done my fair share of just about EVERY piercing. So if anyone on this site has any questions, just ask. If your too embarrassed to post it in general, just send me a Private message.

I had a pretty large clientele from around the united states, before I got injured in May of last year. A large percentage of the people I peirced, won't even go to the shops I worked at anymore, Because I'm not there. There continually call me, or email me, and ask me to pierce them out of my house. lol. Guess I was in high demand. LOL.

Anyways, there is several things you want to make sure of before foregoing any genital piercing, for a female. You might not think your the emotional type, but trust me, it can be a detrimental experience, if not done by the hands of an experienced professional.

Now just because the person in your local shop is a liscensed piercer, it doesn't mean that they are good, or even that they have been taught correctly. It just means they have passed what ever the requirements were, that were put forth by your local governing body.

That being said, even for a piercing as simple as the Clitoral hood, you should definately shop around, and find out as much as humanly possible about your local piercers as you can manage. You don't have to take my word for it though, just picture some nervous kid, slipping the needle too far to the left, or too deep, and puncturing your clitoris. If that sounds enjoyable to you, then by all means, Get it done on the spur of the moment, by the local fly by night ten dollar piercing hut.

Just because he has piercings, doesn't mean he knows how to do them. Just because he pierced your friends navel so perfect, doesn't mean you should trust him with your most preasious orgasm button. But how can you know if the person your looking to have do your piercing is really skilled enough, or experienced enough, to be the one you should have doing it?

Talk with them. Spend a whole visit just bullshitting about piercings, and what they have done, not done. The whole first visit, don't even bring up that you are thinking about getting a private piercing. Get thier business card. Look through thier photos. If there isn't any photos of genitals/nipples, ask them if they have a seperate folder put away, that they bring out if people ask for it. Some do. If they don't have any pictures of thier genital specialazation work, chances are, they haven't done any. Now pictures don't always mean the person knows what they are doing, but if they are professional enough about thier trade, they are certain to have an album of thier art.

Next, don't settle for the first deal, or first place you get to. If you get quoted 50 dollars, and everywhere else is quoting you 70 dollars, all the way up to 150 dollars, ask yourself why shop number one, the 50dollar shop, is so much cheaper then the rest.

Shit, I'll even save you the trouble of trying to figure it out yourself. I have been in this industry a very long time. About 6 years or so ago, countless fly by night piercing and tat shops opened up, in what I like to refer to as sweatshop fashion. It reminded me of third world modification. No experience needed. Just come in, and we will get you a liscense, and you can mess up as many people as you want. Ever wondered why they push the paperwork you fill out so hard? Because they need that contract, stating they can fuck you up as much as they want, and you give them all the rights too, and give up your rights to sue them, and/or make them pay for thier mistakes.

Shit, I made sure I had people fill them out too. Religously. Too many Ebay taught piercers, screwed up peoples lives, with badly placed, infected, borderline fatal stupidity performed piercings. I wasn't having anyone elses mistake, ruin my name, and my lively hood.

I have gotten too far off topic, forgive me. It's just a touchy subject with me. As I'm sure you can understand. Back to the important things you must know.

So lets say you now know exactly what shop, and piercer you want to perform this modification for you, next thing you must definately know is, which genital piercing are you actually wanting to get done? There are several of them too choose from, and not everyone is doable, or right for you. Here are a few of the more common, and what they consist of.

Clitoral hood.

Vertical clitoral Hood(VCH): Usually pierced with a straight or curved barbell. Never to be done any smaller then a 14g, with 1/2 inch length. It is placed in the hood pointing up and down. Proper placement is around a quarter of an inch from the joined peak of the hood/clit. This is the only one of the two clitoral hood piercings that gives a nominal amount of pleasure. It is more practical then asthetic.
Horizontal Clitoral Hood(HCH):This is the most common Clitoral hood piercing. Porn movies have made this one very popular. Although very popular, it is actually very useless in the sensitivity department. Some women do gain a minimal amount of pleasure from this one, but the risks, and placement of it, outwiegh the usefulness by far. This is usually done sideways approx 1/4 to 2/3 of an inch away from the joined peak. It is just about always done with a 1/2 inch 14 guage CBR(captive Bead Ring). Most people ask for this peircing, and after discussion with me over it, they usually opt out for the VCH. Besides giving ten fold more sexual stimulation, the VCH is also much safer of a process. The Vch consists of puncturing once, when the HCH consists of two puntures, and an avoidance of the clitoris.

The Clitoris

Most women come in and say that they want thier clitoris pierced. This is a common mistake. Supprisingly enough, a good percentage of women, don't even know thier own anatomy. Very few women actually have thier clitoris pierced, and those that do, were the ones lucky enough to meat all of the requirements to have the piercing properly placed. This piercing is extremely pleasureable, and sometimes so much so that it's unbearable. Most women are not suited for this piercing, anatomically, or emotionally. If your seriously thinking of having this one done, please don't rush this one. Take a couple months of sdiscussion, and planning with your piercer, before you even try it. Also make sure you discuss it with your significant other, friends, ect, to make sure you are emotionally stable enough to go through with it. If your jumpy or squirmy, or scared of piercings at all. DO NOT GET THIS ONE DONE! ONE JUMP, WIGGLE, OR SQUIRM, AND YOU CAN RUIN YOUR SEX LIFE, POSSIBLY FOREVER ! ! !

Inner Labia

very easy, quick piercing to have done. Usually done with a 1/2 inch 14 guage CBR. Slightly more painful then having an earlobe pierced. It is more asthetic then anything. Also more likely to cause complications, from tearing during sex.

Outer Labia

Painful, slow heal, and very infection prone. I don't recommend it.

Triangle

See Clitoris. Similar in severity, but actually more technical, and more dangerous. Once again, think long and hard, and make sure your piercer is skilled enough to perform this.


Well, this has become a much larger post then I had planned on, so I will end it here. Please make sure to always have all of your piercings done by a well trained, experienced, body modification specialist.

Definately. Give me a little bit, and I'll try to get that in it's own post thread too. Have to look up a couple spellings, since all of the male genitilia piercings have abnormally strange and hard to spell names, except for the Prince Albert. But anyways, I'll get right on that for you.

We both have both nipples pierced, and are both looking into getting genitalia piercings (Tammy on the hood, Bob on the frenum).

We have been using the same place for our tattoos and piercings, and we love the girl that does our piercings, she is very experienced and very sweet (not to mention that both of us thinks she is a major hottie...lol).

Frenum is a semi long heal time, but the hood is a fast one. If your comfortable with your artists, that is the way to go. definately not a bad thing to stick with those you trust
