My situation is more comical than anything but I have had an unexpected result from shaving my balls. I have been trimming my pubic area for a couple of years. But only recently shaved my balls. I have shaved a few times now about a week to two weeks apart. My boys seem to object to this shaving because they are in a state of constant retreat. My sac has shriveled up and seems irritated, not to mention my balls are now often residing significantly north of where they normally should. As a result, my balls look small and shrunken - kind of like a small boy's (yikes). It's embarrassing and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and will it improve. I am beginning to think I should just abandon the shaving altogether.

You could always try the male brazilian waxing (waxing as much or as little pubic hair as you want waxed - could include waxing between your buttocks as well). Or else buy a good electric trimmer and trim them down really short without shaving all your hair off. This will eliminate the small boy balls look that you aren't striving for.

Frankly, I think it might be your imagination. Or, if this is really happening, it might just be a physiological (is that the right word?) reaction -- not a conscious one -- to the newly shaved area.

If you just started shaving them recently then you are probably monitoring them a little more than usual. Also, the now-hairless scrote is probably a little more sensitive. So, the sac may have often been "shriveled" or whatever before, but with the hair on it and a sensation you were used to, you probably didn't notice. Now that you're sporting the bald ball look, you're paying more attention to the area. So now you are concentrating more on what it looks like.

(Compare it to wearing a moustache for years and then shaving it off. For a few days after shaving your upper lip looks like it takes up a quarter of your face, and there's just that odd smooth feeling there...)

Also, since you bared the boys there is no hair to trap a little heat around the sac, so when you're naked remember that area is a little cooler now, so there might be some retreat because of that. And since you're so concerned with this situation, you could be inadvertently tensing up every time you check the boys out, which could cause retraction, too.

If your sac seems irritated, as you mention, then that's more of a moisturizing issue, I'd say. Unless it's just angry with you.

I agree with Thrax. Sometimes when you shave you don't recognize yourself. Same situation but down there - I've done that myself when I've waxed all my hair "down there" off then suddenly you're a little girl again. Maybe same thing for guys it's just a big adjustment seeing what things look like without hair covering it all up. Maybe you might end up liking it hairfree.
