Default Shaving Rash

For those of you that shave "down there"... How do you avoid shaving rashes? I've tried Nair and get a similiar rash. I have VERY sensitive skin and that doesn't help.

Hello,

Yes this was dicussed months ago, but someone one made the recommendationt o use baby oil after shaving. We both shave and both have sensitive skin. We use the baby oil after we shave and have avoided the rash and the red bumps.

I get the red bumps from ingrown hairs in my leg crease if I don't exfolliate really well before and after I shave. I am not sure if that applies since it isn't sensitive skin but it seems to help a lot

I am also going to try the deodarant trick mentioned here next time. Heck I thought I was going to need to go saquatch to avoid the ugly red bumps, but I couldn't decide what was worse.

A lot of folks on this board have spoken highly about Dove stick deodorant. We use it when we shave Mrs. Alura. It seems to work well.

If you do a search on this website under "shaving" there is sure to be a lot of other suggestions as well.

Maybe someone can provide a link or two?

Here's a thread in which I made a post on "How to Shave" some time ago, Happy People. Lots of folks seemed to like it.

Help! Proper way to shave

just wondering,
doesn't anyone wax their crotches in the US? I've never used a razor in my life (for any part of my body), but I've been waxing my legs, arms and armpits since I was 12 or so and I only got rashes the first couple of times.

I'd like to try getting a brazillian wax some day. I just haven't worked up my courage yet. Anyone out there done it?

I go brazillian during the summer (most of the year ) here.

I finally found someone that can wax without making me scream in pain. The first few times hurt like hell.

On the bright side, your skin will toughen up with each subsequent wax and won't hurt as bad. The best part is that it only hurts as your being waxed. My skin was never sensitive afterwards.....and don't forget no stubble for a few weeks. No bumps, no itching!! Yay!

The most important thing is finding someone with a lot of experience in this field. My girl has me exfolliate prior to seeing her. She powders the area to be waxed, and does a small area at a time, pulling the skin taught as she removes the wax. The first time you go, go without shaving and just trim the hairs to about 1/8- 1/4" long. I usually will take a few advil about 20 minutes before I go.

It is well worth the discomfort.

I'm with Miss Piggy. I'd love to try it but don't have the guts. I should start looking for a good place around here. Getting waxed would go along well with my NEw Year's resolution so I really should start looking into this.

Thanks for putting the idea back in my head.

as I said, I've been waxing all hairy parts of my body for more than 10 years now, and every woman I know in my country does the same. here, shaving is considered bad, because hairs grow back immediately in a couple of days and become stronger, thicker and increase in numbers with each shaving.

waxing, on the other hand, needs to be done on a monthly basis and hairs get weaker and thinner over the years. every beauty center in my country offers waxing and you can choose between hot and cold wax. I use the hot and my girl always does the entire side of my inner thighs in one go. it definitely hurts, but only for a second or two.

but, as vespertine said your skin thoughens up soon and in a couple of months you won't need any advil. just make sure you have your hairs trimmed before, or you will experience hell!

a little bit of pain once a month is definitely a price worth paying for having your pussy completely hairless for at least 2-3 weeks.

This is also true of shaving. I used to get a razor burn rash, but I shave every day and I never get it anymore. I think it's a matter of your skin getting used to it. I shave with a triple blade razor in the shower. I also have a Remington ladies electric shaver that I have found works very well - you have to be careful with electric shavers as some of them will grab hold of loose skin!

I wish it was the same for me, fille. No matter how many years I've been shaving... I still get the annoying rash. That's why I opt for waxing.

My husband, on the other hand, shaves regularly and has no problems with bumps, rashes or any other discomfort from it.

I have found my rashes happen on several situations. I wait more than 2 days to shave and I always get it along my bikini line. For those of us who live in the US, Walmart carries a product that you shave with and its supposed to help. I also shave with vasaline but you have to do that with real hot water. I also exfoliate before and after. I have tried the dove deoderant and that helped. I also put neosporine on afterwards. I do have a major problem with getting a close shave. I am also trying the shave minimizing lotions. I have trouble with my bikini line as I am very short 4 ft 8 and had a csection so I have some fat at my waist and I have trouble seeing everywhere I need to shave. I am also gonna try bikini zone and see if that helps
