I'm contemplating getting my clit hood pierced. I have heard that it isn't as painful as one would think and that the benefits are marvelous. How does it feel after it heals? Do you find you're more sensitive? Any information or comments would be greatly appreciated! And do you men find clit piercings sexy?

I had my hood pierced about 5 years ago. The initial piercing doesn't really hurt all that bad but about an hour later you just want to walk around the house with out any pants on. I made the mistake of wearing Levi's and no panties when I had it done and instead of going straight home went out to dinner. I didn't enjoy dinner because all I wanted to do was take off my clothes. They frown on that in resturaunts.

I was told that it would make orgrasms come faster and easier but I found just the opposite, it got in the way.

I had to remove it for a surgical procedure and during my hospital stay the hole closed up so I never had it put back in. Can't say I miss it.

Some people really like them so I think it is a matter of individual taste.

I had mine done back in June (I think). I, too, had heard about all the wonderful extra stimulation ... but found it not to be true in my case. I do not notice when it is in. I guess maybe it doesn't rest squarely on my clit, so while walking around, I do not feel it at all like *they* say you will. :rollseyes

When I got it done, it hurt for a split second ... like a shot in a very sensitive and previously un-pricked location. lol It was NO big deal at all. I had gotten my belly button done the month previous, and the pain was a little sharper with the clit hood, but subsided faster.

Unlike Mrs. GT, I did not have any discomfort at all immediately after getting pierced. I could wear clothes (including underwear and jeans) normally. My jeans are relaxed fit, but fit me rather snugly around the butt and groin. They aren't painted on by any means, but they are just not those hip hugger baggy leg variety that are so popular nowadays. What I am saying is that wearing these jeans immediately after the piercing, wearing pantyhose to work, wearing underwear all the time did not cause me the least bit of discomfort.

However, I have found, like Mrs. GT, that it gets in the way during sex more than enhancing it. I still have mine, though when I want my husband to get a little rough, I take it out. I learned to do that because during one of our rougher sessions, the top of the barbell went down through the top hole and I had to force it back through. Consider that the top of the barbell is a ball and the piercing hole should be no wider than the actual bar and you can surmise that I had some rippage to allow that ball to go through. Didn't hurt a bit (maybe it would have if we weren't already in the midst of rather rough sex ... lol). It seems to have healed up because the ball doesn't just go through it on its own.

If you like your clit play to be a little rough, I would reconsider even getting it. Otherwise, if you like it more gentle, then I say go for it. Like I said, I have to take it out for the rough stuff. Most of our play partners aren't that rough and it doesn't get in the way, but it doesn't provide much additional stimulation at all. I keep mine simply for the "different" factor and aesthetic purposes. Guys seem to really like it. My husband likes the way it looks, but I think he was getting pretty annoyed with it during sex because he felt like he had to be careful all the time. For me, it felt exactly like you think having a sharp object forced through the hood of your clitoris feels, but it only hurt while being pierced. I'm not a wimp for pain (1 day of pain pills after breast augmentation, navel piercing, tatoos, etc) but I distinctly remember yelping. After that, surprisingly it wasn't sore or anything. It was definitely the fastest healing of any piercing I've had. As far as stimulation, I have a vertical and it does add to the sensation for me. My friend has a horizontal and she said it doesn't do anything at all. In any event, most people find it pretty sexy...I guess because it's novel.

One thing i must say right off the bat is yes i think they look super hot and i have been contemplating getting one myself for a couple years. When i recently got my nipples done i asked the peircer about getting a clit hood peircing. She went on to tell me about how you should make sure the person you choose to do this to you should have a minimum of 2 years experience with hood peircings not peircings in general and also think about the possibility that the peircer could hit a nerve and then good luck having easy orgasms again or any at all for that matter. That got me thinking and now reading about the above ladies having a harder time having an orgasm now.... i think i will be passing on it. I have enough troubles already most times.... but damn they look hot.

I agree that you should go to an experienced piercer, but by getting the hood pierced rather than the actual clitoris, there is very little risk to nerve damage.

Mine is vertical, but I still don't get that constant "resting on the clitoris" feeling. And my orgasms have not changed in frequency, duration or intensity. They aren't any better (much to my disappointment), but they aren't any worse. And I think that's a good thing.

You want a 10 gauge curved barbell. Make sure its curved or its nothing but decoration. When you go to get it, dont wear tight anything down below. If you can get away with it wear a long skirt with no undies. Avoid driving over railroad tracks and public transportation (way to much vibration) for several days. Oh and forget being on top for at least three months. They told me to wait 3 months to have sex......uh huh....yah....four days was good. You'll heal fast.

Sexy, definitely! But after a few encounters with women with clit piercings I'm actually won over by the practicality, at least for me. Takes the guesswork out of finding the little bugger! I thought about getting mine done a few years ago, but the pain and the healing process turned me off. Now I'm reading that these aren't that bad, so now I will have to reconsider.

I was initially reluctant to get mine done, because when I got my belly button done, I had asked about hood piercings. My piercer said we would have to abstain from sex for FIVE weeks!!! I was, like, HELL NO!

But then I read some of the previous threads here on the board having to do with hood piercings and found that no one waited that long to resume sexual activity. So, I went ahead and got it done. Hubby and I played around that very night and a couple nights later. Because of the nature of the skin in that area, it heals very quickly. Five weeks was definitely an exaggeration. If I were a piercer, I would probably encourage folks to abstain for maybe a few days to a week at the most. As long as you are careful, it's fine, and it is certainly determined by how much pain you have after the piercing. I had none.

Yep, I heard the same, you-can't-have-sex-for-a-year type stories. We waited 4 or five days and used a position that wouldn't have a large amount of grinding. It was all good. It heals faster than any other peircing I've had too.
