Thinking of getting my Nipples Peirced, Any advice?

Ok so looking for advice on this.
Is there anything i should watch out for?
Is hoop rings better than barbells?
How about caring for them in the healing process?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had my nipple peirced about 7 years ago-hurt like hell-but didn't have any problems with the healing and now I LOVE it! Problem-had to take it out for MRI so I went to peircing place and they took it out and we bought a new one to put in afterward-we couldn't get it in!!! We were in the bedroom with pliers and trying to be quiet because kids were downstairs. We got it in, but it was all bent. I ended up buying a new one at tattoo parlor and having them put it in.

They say that rings are better for the healing process than barbells. However, I've found for all of my piercings that barbells have been better. I did have one of my nipple rings reject and repierced with a barbell. The barbell was a lot better for me. If you do get barbells be prepared for the fact that they will be much longer than you expect. They have to be extra long so that you can clean them properly. Once they are healed you can replace with shorter barbells. Take a look at bmezine.com.

I've said it before but I don't mind repeating myself. Nipple rings are by far the sexiest piercings (IMHO). Good luck!

Like the previous posters said , Hurt like hell!! straight up! But was worth it..!I have rings.. after care is important.. keep it clean and you will be fine.. I have my tounge pierced to and that didnt hurt at all.. go figure..

It only hurt for an instant, I had that and my clit and ear done all in the same hour!!
I think that the hoops are better for about 6 months will you are used to them, it takes a while for some of the seeping to go away totally, slow healers for some. Bar bells don't get caught in bracelets though!!! lol Sea Salt works wonders for the healing process! it doesn't sting. I still (after 2 years) rinse mine in the shower and clean them b4 bed. But i change mine regularly. I have sensitive skin so I can only wear dangles with my barbells for about 8 hours. I use A&D ouintment to take them in and out - that helps too. I haven't had any problems with mine. I actually like the feeling i get from my nipples being bit more now than ever. Plus the gals really love to see them!!! lol
Just remember when u go in. It only hurts for a sec then you will enjoy for a lifetime!!!

I agree with ya totally.. My nips are much more sensitive now(in a good way)I love having them played with! when i first got them done it felt like they always needed to be tweaked..lol I wonder if it had to do with nerv endings or something..lol

Thanks for all your advice... getting them done tomorrow night and i am starting to dread the pain lol. Cant be any worse than getting a tattoo that lasts 2 hours right... after all this will only be a few seconds of pain As for it being MORE sensitive.... I am extremely sensitive already what will peircing do omg!!!

The female half of a couple we know got hers done and the hubby tells me she was so horney his poor dick couldnt take anymore after her jumping him 3-4 times a day for the next 2 weeks

www.tribalectic.com is also a good place to look. I have bought nipple rings from them, and found them to be very good. Mine was sore for a couple of weeks afterward. So be prepaired. Make sure you do the aftercare and try to get surgical stainless steel if you can. Most people have some kind of sensitivity to nickle and SS steel has none. I have a captive bead ring (cbr) in mine and actually have not changed it yet becauce I'm chicken. lol. Good luck with your peircing, but make sure you go to a reputable place, just like a tattoo.

Funny that this post is so active ... in the sense that on a spur of the moment decision, hubby got one of his done last night.

Some friends were coming over and the female half of that couple has been wanting to get hers done. My hubby has been talking about maybe doing one of his for some time now. Her hubby just got both of his done about 3 weeks ago, so when they called and said, "let's go to the piercing place and get them done" ... we went!

Hubby said it did hurt, but the worst part was right after. Hubby had been drinking, and he got a little nauseous and dizzy ... but I do not believe that is typical. He's not a fan of needles, so mix that with the drinking and I think that was why he got a little sick.

Anyway, so far so good. I guess I am the only one left in our circle that hasn't done it yet ... we will see.

Ok heres my update.... not done yet lmao!
I went to get them done last night... man i was nervous to the point of having the shakes. I get there with my 6 year old after hours having nobody with me for support cause hubby was working the night shift. When i tried to make my appointment they didnt have a time during the day when the kid would be in school so she said bring her along she can wait in the lobby since i had no sitter...what a pain but do-able hehehe. "OK hunny Mommy has an appointment and i need you to sit quietly and be good". It was after hours because it is done in a hair salon and that room is used for nails during the day hours... peircings at night or Saturdays only.
So anyhow i build myself all up for it get there get the daughter occupied fill out the paper work. Im so nervous i didnt think about questions good thing she asked me specifcally also ..."Do you have any problems with latex?". Omg i totally blanked in all my nervousness yes!!! latex sensitivity!!. I have to use non latex condoms in the lifestyle..it's nice being friends with us cause you never have to supply the condoms we always do. Costly too $15 Canadian for 5!
So long story short the lady doesn't have any non latex gloves in the shop and i have to go back Tuesday to get them done. The bonus is i can do it at my own convenience so i made the appointment for when the daughter will be in school. Too bad for them they will have to go through extra labor of cleaning the whole room up in the middle of the day to get ready for a peircing...sadly i will have to go through the big nerve build up again come Tuesday

Aw. thats too bad. I was excited for you.

No worries though. You'll get through it just fine. I had terrible shakes when I ot my tongue done. My piercer (who has a good 20 years of experience) was even surprised. Especially since I've had a few piercings done by him before. Try to relax. It's worth it!

Got em done today!! Thank God thats over and so worth it i hope i think they look great. Only 2 seconds of extreme pain too... 1 for each nipple hehehehe. Thanks for everyones advice on this.

You hope they look okay? You haven't seen them. I'm hoping this doesn't mean that you have them bandaged up - if so I'd seriously consider removing said bandages... just make sure you have clean undergarments during the day and clean sheets at night (probably a good rule of thumb for both pierced and unpierced people)
