| Swingers Board Addict | Personally, I find the mental build up to getting the wax done is worse than having it done. ![]() I've had a few of them done (usually in the summer b/c we do go to some nudist swimming areas and trying to keep totally shaved is such a beyotch for me...razors irritate me if I do it every day) and the place that I go to here in San Antonio is wonderful. I find the cost fairly reasonable (about $60). Ok, some might think 60 bucks is a bit much...but I've heard that some places charge up to $100 to do them, so I'm quite happy with the price. I usually tip between $10-20. What I think is the absolute worst part of a Brazillian? The little curve right above the clit. I can handle everything else just fine...but that is the cringe worthy part of it for me. I like the warm wax...the place I go does not use muslin strips, just let the wax cool and pull it off. I've heard the muslin strips make it hurt much more than the other type of wax. I would totally recommend it to anyone, but can be a bit of a pricey habit to get into. Maria ![]() |

We use the muslin strips, but we cut them reall small, and do small areas at a time. I too find the area around the clit difficult, especially when my clit is accidentally touched by either my husband or by the fabric strip. I'm also challenged by the inner labia. I do love feeling smooth, though! I'm due for a waxing - we're going away for the weekend with a lovely bunch of friends! |

| insert witty banter here | Yes, I'm an addict too ... here in central Va, I've paid anywhere from $65 to $90 for it. The latest place I've found is wonderful ... the technician is a sweetheart (and brazillian), and they send me gift certificates sometimes. Mr. Fun and I experimented with doing it at home. But our time is precious, and sometimes the cost ratio just lends itself to just forking over the doe. |

| Here to Stay | As someone who gets waxed and also works in a salon where its done I see different reactions. What hurts one doesnt seem to hurt another. Numbing spray and the pre-powder really makes a big difference. The pre powder keeps the wax from sticking to anything (like skin) other than what its supposed to. After waxing for some time, now mostly I dont have to get waxed, just few strays here and there every month or so...tweezing takes care of that. Melody |

| Here to Stay Join Date: Oct 2005 Posts: 19 Location: ohio Status: Couple | I just did my own wax job... I used Gigi brazilian hard wax (no muslin strips needed) and a lot of baby powder. It went fine although it hurt a lot...picture me screwing up my courage every time I had to yank on a piece of wax. Owie. I took two ibuprofens first and I'm sure that helped. I'm going to keep doing this for a while and see if it hurts less in the future. It was bearable but I'd rather it not hurt quite that bad! A few days later I waxed my armpits too and WOW OW OW is all I can say about that either...and I'll probably do that again too. ![]() |
