Basically, it's Nair with a bladeless razor you are supposed to use to remove the depilitory... and for me it worked about as well - which is to say not great. My skin is still on fire. I think I'll stick to my regular razor and shaving cream or soap. Ladies, what beauty aids have you tried only to wish you hadn't? |

It was expensive and a disappointment. Later I read on the board about the "Body Bare" rechargeable razor being fantastic for removable of pubic hair. It wasn't. The holes in the head of the shaver are so fine that pubic hair can't even fit in them to be shaved off! My hair is no coarser than average, and probably finer. So this shaver was a great disappointment too. I am back to hubby shaving me with the razor and I use his electric shaver above my bush where the hair grows thin and I think I look better with it removed. This has worked out best thus far. But I'm always looking for something better because my skin is sensitive and gets easily irritated. LM |

That was another method I should have mentioned. Thanks for the memories, Ves. LM | |

| Swingers Board Addict | I tried that Veet also. I put it on my legs and I thought my skin was going to peel off! My legs turned red and burned like hell! 2 days later and I still had very red skin. I will stick to shaving from now on.

Anyway I know this is probably a boring topic so forgive me. talk to you later. |

| Canadian, eh? | Ah the things we do for beauty. Nair works well. As long as you don't have allergies, sensitive skin or leave it on too long. Gotta scrub it off with a wash cloth or a loofah though. "Rinsing" does absolutely nothing. Waxing: Done professionally it was pretty good (as in quick and efficient), but I tried it at home and made a HUGE mess with the wax. Plus it's not as easy to pull the damn things off yourself when you know how much it hurts. Haven't tried a Brazilian wax yet Ves, but I'm masochistic enough I think I need to give it a try at least once. And shaving the bikini line just plain sucks. Results last ONE DAY and you suffer with razor rash for up to a week!

| Swingers Board Addict | I purchased a new razor called intuition. It is awsome! it is the one that comes with the shaving foam built into the razor head. It was cheap, and shaves really close! My pubic area is not very think, and it is a very light shade of brown, but a new razor blade will shave it nicely, and even the bikini line lasts for a few days. I have very sensitive skin, and the sensitive skin version of this razor is what I use and I haven't had any problems. Even shaving inside my labia. I hate waxing! But a trick I learned in the Dominican was if you use a good pwder (one without cornstarch) the wax only adheres to the hair and not the skin. It worked ok- but didn't last as long as I had hoped Has anyone gotten the Pussy Shaver yet? I was wondering how it worked?

I tried it and it really does help. I tried Nair on my legs once and hated it- it burned and didn't work well at all. I'm too chicken to try anything else, lol, so I stick to my pink Gillette Sensor 3 razors and letting hubby do any necessary touch ups to the places I just can't see, lol. M.

| Swingers Board Addict Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 135 Location: Seattle Status: Single | I've heard of the Dove Deodorant trick also, but haven't tried it yet. Someone suggested to me a while back, to try the "Bump Fighter" razor to help eliminate the bumps and rash in the pubic area. I found them at Walgreen's drugstore. It has a picture of an African-American man on the front of it. My friend told me since they have naturally curly hair, they are more prone to razor bumps, since the razor cuts so close, it leaves in-grown hairs. Well, the pubic area is naturally curly on most people So anyway, I tried it and it really seemed to help! In between shaves, I touch up with an electric razor the Norelco D-Finer. It's actually a man's electric razor for defining a beard into thin strips, etc. and I found it works great at helping to keep things smooth between shaves. Also, it is less irritating on labia skin, or at least on my sensitive skin.

But that's an ouch too cause when it's all growing back in, it itches like hell. Does the Dove deoderant calm that down too? Cause if it does, I'm going to the store RIGHT NOW!!!! I can't shave my bikini line every day due to the bumpies and then nicking myself because of them. I have Coochie Cream and Aveeno for Sensitive Skin, that work well for the actual shaving but not for the day after.
