| mildly abnormal | Do any of you out there have a tattoo or other body mod that you regret getting? Or maybe know someone who has such a regret? I was thinking about the fact that people always say that you will regret it one day - but most of those people seem to be the ones without any body mods to begin with. Personally, I have stuck to piercings becasue I like the fact that you could just take them out. Anyone have a piercing scar that makes them regret the piercing?

Someone got the bright idea of proving how tough you were as a teenager by having a tattoo done with a sewing needle and Indian Ink. We all being young and stupid weren't about to back down, so I've got one on my right bicep that either needs serious touching up or lasers to banish it. While I'm not fond of it, it does serve a purpose. It's a reminder that we all do things we're not proud of from time to time and that teenagers really don't know jack about squat. |

| Active Member | Well, I'm not sure if I really "regret" my belly button piercings or not, but the first one was so shallow that it worked itself out and one morning I woke up to find it laying right on my belly button. Months later I had it pierced again and told my friend to go deeper this time. Well, he went deeper alright! He went SO deep that it made my belly button pinch up! Lady Eve |

| Here to Stay | When i was 50 i decided to mark the occasion by getting something done that i never thought i would the nerve to do. I had my left nipple pierced. WOW talk about painful. The guy that did it held my legs between his and it's a good thing he did or his voice might have been an octave higher. I didn't regret having it done, but almost immediately after i did i started breaking out in hives. I guess the "mother nature" in me didn't like me fooling around with metal in my mammary glands...lol It really didn't do to much for me and evidently not my b/f either. So, as soon as i could change the jewelry and get a picture of it in a shield, i let it grow back. Now, that i sort of regret...lol But, not so many hives these days... Now what to do for my 55? Any ideas? littlebit

My wife has also had her tongue and nose pierced as well as several piercings in each ear. I have had my ears pierced, but haven't worn earings in a year or so. Neither of us has regrets, as is probably evident by the above paragraph. I think those that have got the wrong tattoo. Trite stuff. Or ex-lovers names. Well thought out body art reflects who you are as a person, and therefore rarely would carry regrets with it. Mr. WS

| Active Member Join Date: Oct 2004 Posts: 23 Location: Clovis, CA Status: Couple | I have 3 tats. My first one I got when I was 18, it is on my lower back and it's Thumper from Bambi. It's cutesy but it's really well done and I still like it. My second one was supposed to hold a lot of meaning for me, but the artist must have been having an off day because it looks terrible. (I had looked at his work before) It is a nude angel surrounded by purple and orange clouds that are supposed to represent dawn. The whole tat is supposed to be a representation of my name. My first name means "pure" and middle name means "morning". The outlines of the angel are way to thick and the colors of the clouds are way to dark - they look like tie dye. It is on my right hip/lower back. This is the one that I would have removed without a second thought if I had the $$. My whole plan was to have another tat on the opposite side of a sexy devil to kind of represent my dark side. My third tat is my favorite. After I lost 60 lbs, I knew I wanted to get a tat that would represent that journey. I felt a butterfly would be the best symbol (although in general I think butterflies are pretty much a cliche tattoo for women). I found a beautiful tribal butterfly and had it done between my shoulder blades. I love wearing halter tops and low back shirts that show it off ![]() |

| Swingers Board Addict | I have both nipples pierced and HAD my clit hood pierced. That is the one I regret. I regret the fact that it did not work out for me. It was a very beautiful piercing, but I am built wrong for it. I was told that it might not work for me, but I wanted to try it. Now I have a small scar that you can't see, but you can feel it and I have to explain to swing partners what it is from. I am thinking about getting a tat, but I am not sure if that is what I want. I can always take out the jewerly, and the piercings close up, but a tat is there forever. |

I love both of mine, and I would like a couple more, but it will take me a while to figure out what else I want on my body for life. My guy says he regrets one that he has on his arm, wishes it were a bit bigger, something more ellaborate. NOW FOR A REGRET~ My cousin's ex husband used to call her pumpkin, after about a year together, while in Gatlinburg, he decided to get a tattoo. He got a PUMPKIN with a banner through it, with her name on it. We all kinda laughed at what it was, but the symbolizism behind it was pretty sweet. However, now they are divorced, and I know he Regrets that tattoo. Can you imagine, a guy who is about 6'4 and 300lbs with a pumpkin tattooed on his back? (not that I have any room to judge another) It's just the first time I'd ever seen something so odd. |

Instead of having something tattooed on me that I really wanted I went with the standard 'butterfly' to be safe. :rollseyes I DID want a Grateful Dead-like design that a friend drew for me, but I was worried that when I 'grew up' I wouldn't like it. At least that's what my mother told me. She was wrong.......I still want it. ![]()

Only my ears are pierced ... but I've thought of getting my belly button done. I actually regret having second piercings in each of my ears. Mostly because the second earring thing goes in and out of fashion, and when you aren't wearing one the little hole is still there. Pretty tame, huh? Obviously, I am one of the low scorers in the "kinky test!" ![]() |

| Mod Squad Member | I had my hood pierced about 3 years ago. I didn't regret it but I don't have it anymore and this is the funny story behind it. When I had to have surgery the anesthesiologist asked me if I had any metal in or on my body. I told him about the hood piercing and he said I would have to remove it. He left the room while I sat on the bed "indian style" trying to unscrew the ball. I couldn't get it off. He walked in and saw me working on it and I explained I couldn't get it unscrewed so he offered to try. Now this was the cutest doc I had seen in a while so I didn't turn down his offer. After a few minutes of him trying to get the thing unscrewed he decides that he will just have to cut it off after I'm under. I told him that would be tough as it is made of Titanium He appeared very puzzled at this point but told me he would figure something out. When I came out of surgery Mr. GT was in the waiting room as the wheeled me by to my room. He asked if it was me and the doc said yes and then handed him a box that said dentures on it. Mr. GT is getting scared at this point because I don't have dentures and he's not so sure it is me under that sheet so he follows them to my room to be sure. While they are transfering me to my new bed he opened the box and found the barbell. Whew, what a relief she still has her teeth. Needless to say the hole closed before I was feeling well enough to try and put it back in so I never did.
