It sounds like not many of you have tried waxing. I just wanted to put my 2 cents in about it, since I recently tried it. It was a birthday surprise for my fiance, and it went over splendidly!! I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I will describe how they did it:

You go in, disrobe from the waist down, and then they start with warm wax from the sides in on top. The most painful part (if you are getting a full wax, everything gone, like I did) is the hair right above the clitoris being removed. absolute worst, I was screaming and cursing despite trying hard not to. From front to back, it took at most 25 minutes (first time). The person who waxed me said it usually takes 10-15 every time after that. The other really nice thing, which I have yet to personally confirm, is that every time after the first time the waxing is less painful, because your hair roots learn to relax more, and the hair just slides out easier. She told me all I had to do to keep from getting ingrown hairs was to scrub every day in the shower with a loofa or a wash cloth, to remove the top layer of skin, which keeps the hair from growing back down into the skin. I got a few ingrown hairs, but not many, and they weren't very bad, and went away quickly. Nothing like the ingrown hairs I get shaving. I can't stand shaving.

Now, the sexual benefits from waxing fully. Immeadiatly after it was done, it still hurt, but already I was more aware of sensations caused by clothing or motion. For some reason, I was wetter, more & more often than before the wax.
