So called Swinger Sites

Posted 02-08-2008 at 02:12 PM by JustAskJulie
I regularly get emails from various sites asking me to link to them and sometimes I just run across sites on my own and I am amazed (although I don't kno why) at some of the things I see. The most common being what I call "so called swinger sites". They bill themselves as a swinger site but what they've done is gone out and purchased some pre-fab personal ads program/website that is just like every other in existance to the point that when you go to their front page while it says it's a "SWINGER" personals site, when you go to do a test search the first options you see are "male seeking female/ female seeking male" and you are lucky if Couple seeking anything is there at all. In the case of the one I just pulled up that billed itself as a swingers website there was not a single mention of couples seeking or being sought in the drop down list for searches.

How can you bill yourself as a swinger website and not even offer options for couples?

I think that is the very reason that I trust you to do some of the "legwork" for us newbies. This site makes me feel like I have a whole new bunch of people that care about us and pass along good information and advice. I've looked at some of the other sites too and they scare you. This one feels like home. Thanks Julie

Do you think it's an age thing? Think back about 30 years ago. Single men were referred to as swingers. It was so weird that I was watching a Don Knotts movie (The Love God) and they referred to him in there as a swinger because he was single and available dating a reverend's daughter.

It's so obvious that my idea of a swinger is not a single man looking for a single woman.

I know that was Stoooopid, but it was just a thought.

I think from what I see allot of singles after the Austin Powers movies consider themselves.... swingers.

I dont promote our lifestyle at work, but lets face it I have one hell of a list of work friends. 60% single males. I do hear it allot at work, how playing the vanilla bars or strip clubs its more presumed that they are swingers.
