Got some of that time.

Well, I've talked about the difficulty of finding time with our OSO. We got some of that this weekend!
Gator was working his evening shift and Kitten was working the evening shift on her temporary job. Tech and I had planned a date. Figured to be a good time since it wasn't taking anything away from time spent with Gator and Kitten. We had a good time. Shopping, meal and movie. And then the getting a room idea came up. Fine with Gator and Kitten if we did. The great time we were having made us feel bad in the sense that we'd like for Gator and Kitten to have the same for themselves. We took time to try and figure out a way. About the time it dawned on us, Gator was calling because the same way had occurred to him. He and Kitten could drive the hour to the same city Tech and I were in after they both got off work. Why the hell that hadn't occurred to the four of us before is beyond me. Probably because getting a room wasn't in the plans Tech and I had and we had planned to go to our respective homes after our date. Gator said why? Stay the night. Said he should have thought of doing that with Kitten. Tech, Gator and I couldn't think of one reason why they still couldn't do it.
He surprised her by calling and telling her he had reserved a room and would she meet him there. (At a different motel than Tech and I). She called Tech and asked was he coming home. He didn't have a good chance to answer before she told him that Gator had got a room, she was meeting him there after work and she wasn't coming home that night. Should have heard Tech laugh at that. (He was still laughing about it this morning.)
You can't imagine how good that time was for Gator and Kitten. They are the type that needs face to face communication more so than Tech and I. They have trouble feeling close without it. (Not a surprise for me that Gator is like that with Kitten. He has always needed that with me as well.) They did send us a text this morning and asked Tech and I to meet them for breakfast. Tech and I arrived first and I was on the lookout for them. Seeing Gator's face was a pure delight for me. He was showing signs of happiness. I hadn't seen that in a while. The problems with Kitten and I had gotten to him and they hadn't been able to spend time together in a while. She was happy. All four of us were happy.
Unfortuately, Kitten and Gator had to be back at work this afternoon and we couldn't spend a lot of time today.
We made the most of what we had!! And it was a very good thing.

 |  Good for all of you. Face to face time is good. Texts, e-mails and calls are all fine and dandy, but there's no substitute from being with someone instead of just their pixels. |
