The only thing constant is change,,,, and how it rattles in the pocket.

We all make choices about how we'll spend our allottment of time. Some choices are easier than others, and I think it's the difficult choices that truely define us as individual characters. Play times can still be available for yall to enjoy. Perhaps this is an opportunity to employ creative problem solving techniques.

Several of the party-hosting couples we know have had adult kids move back home since the economy soured (we have a boomerang too). The party scene has changed a bit, but it still continues.

I'm confident you'll find a workable solution....

I have friends in their 30's who voice the same concerns. There have been more than one occasion where what was supposed to become a playdate turned into a night with kids movies and my friends kids using me for a pillow on the couch. I just take what fun I can. I don't mind. But I do think you have the right priorities. Best of luck, and you know what they say; the less often you enjoy something, the more you enjoy it when you do.

I'm sure many people have been at this crossroads. If it were me I would take things as they come (so to speak) and not give up on the LS entirely, just be happy with a few encounters here and there. We've not had to face this particular choice regarding kids as our are older..though the issue still is an issue for as some of our swinger friends have kids. My motto has become, there is never a rush. If you can meet a particular couple at a particular time, then wait for a better time.

You could always try telling the Vanilla folks that the weekend they're talking about, they can't come over.

When they ask why, tell them that you and the Mrs have changed religion (or if you're non-religious, found religion,) and gone Wiccan. That weekend is the one that the circle you joined will be coming over to help consecrate your circle in the back yard, and everything has to be done "skyclad." After all, it wouldn't be *too far* from some form of truth...

I have tried that whole, "I will be busy entertainng friends that weekend." beofre. I get hit with, No problem, we will stay in a hotel and when your friends leave we can coem over. Family is sucha pain in the ass at times.

Trust me when I say that I am not too nice. I tell them NO 1000 times and they work on it and weasel their ways into my house anyway!

They end up spending the night! Then they stay the next day and so on! ACK! I think I am going to start walking around in the nude from now on and not let anyone in the back yard if they have clothes on! LOL!!!! That should lower the guest lists! HA HA HA HA

Okay, so maybe I'm not as pure and uncorruptible as I claimed but, as Jason said, the money is one reason to pass on such a nice invitation. At least for now.

The other reason is, I haven't even managed to work up the nerve to go to anything beyond a meet and greet locally. There's just NO WAY I'm ready for something like this even locally, let alone clear down in Georgia! Don't get me wrong, the invite (such as it is) is appreciated. I'm just not quite ready for something on that scale.

Oh, and as he said, we both love the term "wofe". We've used it any and every where possible. Thanks!

Tell the vanillas to go away! You're busy!

Well now! Just as I feared! I have 4 family members trying to horn in on this weekend! ACK!!! I have a Lifestyle couple visiting us this weekend too!

To top it all off, I have just been informed that I may have a vanilla house guest here from Mid July till Mid August! AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!

This is not looking good! Perhaps we should have rented a loft appartment!

hmmm, after a nice round of play with a party guest I bounced off an AIR MATTRESS at our first house party recently, rolled onto the floor and into the wall (sort of like the on top of spaghetti meatball!) Hurt a little, but to make matters worse a bunch of spectators saw it!

Now, as for the unbribeable, uncorruptible part...
She cheats. She'll bring up the $$$ aspect of such a trip, knowing I can't win that argument (unless a lottery ticket gets lucky, and if you only spend $1 on one, you aren't likely to win) Figure a flight down and rental would run almost $700, and driving would be rather long (and she wouldn't let me do a non-stop drive)

Sigh.

Maybe we'll get lucky with the lottery this weekend...

A "wofe" is a misspelling, a typo if you will. The phrase I was intending to and should have written is "Jason's adoring and absolutely wonderful wife without whom both he and the world would be incomplete without." or "wife" for short.

Unbribable? Uncorruptable? Really? Your purity is not nor will it ever be in question so long as Jason and I breath. that being said, how about if we reserve a really nice bed for you to sleep in for the evening. I will even cook you breakfast in the morning. We often celebrate mornings with Eggs and Margaritas here!

We just booked our daughter a flight to go spend 2 weeks with her grandparents in August!

I am working on the schedule now. I can tell you that it will not be in July! I have one weekend free for play and the rest are already booked by vanilla family and friends. This is why I am trying to stave off the crush in August.

We'll volunteer to help in any way we can! I would suggest maybe early August? It's already July and I know with the Tennessee meetup in a few weeks, we couldn't do another weekend away from the kids in July! But it's your house, it's more about your schedule anyway!
