Then and Now

Last weekend we were sitting in our hot tub discussing how our swinging had changed over the 30 years since we started to swing back in the late 1970s. We thought we would share our thoughts with you.
1. Back then our swinging was basically wife-swapping. We would meet a couple for drinks or dinner, then exchange partners for sex. Now we are involved in a much larger group of couples and while we sometimes meet just one couple we usually swing with more than one couple at a time.
2. Back then we swung in separate rooms. If we did play in the same room at a hotel or motel one couple would be on one bed and the other couple on a separate bed. Now we always play together in the same room and usually on the same bed.
3. Back then while we may have been swinging with several couples we usually met them one couple at a time every few weeks or so. Now we often meet with several couples at the same time.
4. Back then if we did meet more than one couple at the same time we paired off and played separately. Now when we play with more than one couple we are all together in the same room and usually on the same bed.
5. Back then we would undress to play, then get dressed (even if it was only a robe or caftan) to take a break, then undress to play again. Now once we are undressed we remain naked until the party ends.
6. Back then the sex was exclusively heterosexual. Now it is both heterosexual and bisexual, especially amongst the females but increasingly amongst the males too.
7. Back then we would pair off and play separately as couples, then exchange partners and play again. Now group sex where we all play together is the norm.
8.Back then everybody had all their pubic hair. Now most if not all of the females we play with and many of the males completely shave their pubic hair.
9. Back then the sex was always MF. Now we play in a variety of combinations - MF, FF, MM, MFM, MMF, FMF, FFM, MFMF and so on.
10. Back then it was unthinkable to suggest that we took pictures while we were playing. Now we often take photos or shoot videos while we are playing.
11. Back then we were not very concerned about STDs. We rarely if ever practised safe sex. Now we are very concerned about STDs and while we never use condoms when we are playing with our regular group of playmates we always use them when we meet new couples.
12. Back then sex was usually restricted to masturbation and vaginal intercourse. Now in addition to that there is much greater emphasis on oral sex and anal sex.
13. Back then swinging was fun. It is much more fun now!

 |  It's great to read your comparisons of past and present and compare those comments to our current play activities. We play almost exclusively at couple oriented house parties and haven't observed any anal play at them yet and the predominate play mode is "wife swapping". I like the emphasis on oral and I'd like to be involved in more group activities. |
