What goes across your mind when a couple puts their phone number in their swinger profile?

The last few I've seen that had their phone number even went so far as to put it in their tag line, so you didn't even have to read their profile to get it.

Just curious what your thoughts are before I share my own.

Some people set up cell phones specifically for swinging activities, and share it for no other purpose. So, no harm. If it was your home phone number, that's different.

Putting your IM handle on the profile is more common, but we are finding instant messaging to be less than effective at even helping us find playmates. Some IM's go good and then there is no attraction at the meet, and then like our most recent the IM went very bad but we met anyways. We have a playdate with that couple tonight. I really like to stay away from IM's till after we meet and use it for an easy tool to keep conected. As for phone numbers we like to give ours out as soon as we see pictures and get an idea of attraction, and then use the phone to verify it is a couple and then set up a meet.

As for giving it out on our profile, I think not. I much prefer the mail programs on the swing sites to do an initial sort before I give out my number. And for any who do give out a number that way I have to ask, isnt it a pain to have to run to get to your computer to try to figure out who you are talking to? With the mail, we have a chance to look at their pics and read a profile first before starting a conversation.

I don't know... I mean it's a cell phone, right? How traceable are they? If there was no way to trace a physical address from a cell phone, I don't really see a problem with that. Especially if like bbarnsworth said, it's a cell phone meant just for swinging.

Now, I don't have the ovaries to put our cell # in our profile and especially a tag line. We give it out when we're comfortable talking to you (Usually after a couple of emails).

I tend to think a bit differently, think of the modern day version of writing a number on the bathroom wall

Can you think of a better way of screwing with someone.. Remember HACKERS?

Esp, if its some super conservative straight laced bible thumping people

And of course if its genuine, it speaks volumes of how inept or inexpereinced they are, But that will change VERY SOON.. like by 2am, when the phone has been ringing off the hook, looking for a good time

No, I would not put my cell phone # on any profile. Regardless of whether or not it could be traced, imagine the calls/texts you could be getting from people you have no interest in? No thank you.

IM, fine, I'll share that - because we do have a separate one from personal on yahoo, and we provide no personal information in that profile either.

We only exchange phone #'s when a meet is setup - so that we can reach each other if someone is running late or can't find each other in a crowded restaurant. But if we meet someone at the Club, even then I don't give it out!

Only 3 couples that we have met have any personal information - facebook or phone numbers. We like it that way.

These are the thoughts I have when I see phone numbers posted on profiles. I am just amazed at anyone who would give out their number (whether it's only for swinging or not) to just ANYONE! I mean it's one thing to get to know people via email or even to answer an ad and give your phone number that way, at least then you know who is getting it... but when you put it on your profile you are giving it to EVERYONE.

Yes.

What additionally comes to mind are:

1) Whomever did this is pretty darned desperate and needy.

2) If I call this number, then they'll have mine.

3) 50/50 it will lead me to some kind of advertisement for Viagra pills or on-line porn.

We wouldn't even consider it. The only time we give our our digits is when we have an actual playdate or meeting set up so that we can chat if there are last minute issues, can't find the couple, etc. We're not big "phone talkers" anyway, so even if we did chat we'd probably give off a bad impression, lol.

Julie,

I'm going to have to drive out there for a weekend to distract you. (Sorry, I know Lee is gonna beat me up for that)

Picking on poor desperate people who can't take the time or the energy to meet people online.

Seriously though.... A Cell phone is way too traceable to use that. All these movies with people getting tower locations and activating the gps chips in most phones.

It's bad enough that we know for a fact that the Army CID peruses SLS to find couples/singles posting photos in uniform, and my haircut gives away that I'm military to begin with.. Don't need them having my cell to call me and have me report to get in trouble either.

I wouldn't do it myself...but if someone wants to put themselves out there like that ..I think is their business.

And nowadays you can buy a cheap pre-pay, cell phone from Walgreens for less than $10. Perhaps folks are starting to use phones such as these...then they wouldn't ever have to worry about their private #'s.

most cell phones have the ability to hide the number when you make a call...kinda like using *67 from a land line.

It would raise doubts about a lot of things, many of which are already listed above. If contacted (or if their profile caught our eye), we'd probably pass on that one just because we would think their style of swinging wasn't a good fit with our more low key style and we probably wouldn't be a good match anyway.

We are pretty cautious about our personal contact information, we would never post a phone number on an on line profile. We do have my IM (his) info posted on one of our profiles but I almost never get any random add requests. We had hers posted for a short time and she was inundated with add requests. Most were from guys we had never had any prior contact with so we had no idea who they were. Her info was removed after only a day or so of being posted. Even after we meet someone we are cautious about phone numbers until we get to know them better. Our home number is never used to contact anyone, cell phones only for playmates.

Posting a pre-paid cell phone number is one thing, but posting your address freely is just plain crazy in my opinion! There is a couple we know of that has been on Swing Lifestyle for a number of years, I would think they would have some sense by now. About a month or so ago they attained VIP status, so me being curious about other VIP's went and checked out their web site. They were hosting a party and freely gave their phone numbers, and gave a detailed description of layout of their house and the various forms of intertainment that can be found in the different rooms, tv's, computers, etc... this was found in their event details on the club events page

Today I go and take a peek at their web site to see whats new since they have not had a party recently. They have a link to their Yahoo group, I go and the messages are open to the public (with out even registering) and there in plain sight was their address for all the world to see....

What are these people thinking... :dontknow:

      Hello!

We've been purusing ads looking for a single male as of late. We've found that in many cases men will state in their ads that they are "very open minded" or "very kinky" or even "open to new experiences".

For the most part, these men are simply bisexual or bi curious and we're now wondering if there are secret code words and hidden meanings behind other adverts we've come across. Is it common here to use phrases like "very open minded" to indicate that one is bisexual? What other phrases should we key in to?

Ok BE 100% honest people, How many times did you write, delete, rewrite, change, delete and add the HEADLINE and/or DESCRIPTION of your PROFILES. I know there is some bright, word savy, super confident in how they describe themselves individuals and I envy and admire that about you. But for some of us, at least us, it was kinda hard. I mean how do you sum up who you and your mate are as individuals, your sex life, your expectations and try not to sound creepy ALL AT THE SAME TIME?!?!?!? THEN DO IT IN A FEW WORDS ON THE HEADLINE TO ATTRACT PEOPLE!!! LOL

I'm glad to announce ours ended up being LETS HAVE A BLAST. smh I just said fuck it, I know sexually we can hang with the best of them and that we're good down to earth people so LETS HAVE A BLAST it is. To all that went thru our dilemma, cheers! Hope we get contacted, if not we'll be right back trying to come up with some catchy 5 word phrase that says WE WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU BUT I NEED YOU TO WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH US TO SO HERE IS A BRIEF SUMMARY OF WHO WE ARE AND I HOPE IT WORKS! To those who didn't stress, NO sex for you tonight because your headline probably scored you and your partner some bomb ass swinging nights! But we still love you!!!!

Well thanks for reading, we hope our humor tickled you a bit and feel free to share your thoughts!!!

Michael and I continue to see a therapist both together and separately. Over the years we have both become more open to telling her what experiences and feelings we have with others and the reasons we enjoy others. I will never know what he tells her in his private sessions though I am very open in our joint meetings.

We have told her that we post some of our experiences on a swingers site, it’s more me posting, Michael doesn’t post anymore. She asked if I embellish my posts because many post on sites about fantasies more than realities. I think I post real feelings as best as I can but I know what she means that posting has an excitement factor like reliving an event. Others will post something they wished they did almost as if they did it.
Michael and I were very hesitant to open up to our therapist our alternative lifestyle thoughts when we first met her. I opened up first in my private meetings and then only in a broad way with no specific acts. I didn’t think she would understand what we were doing or how she would judge me. Therapy was to take away my odd feelings which ended up adding to my thinking my actions were odd. Once getting over my fears of opening up my deep thoughts it has freed up anxiety of enjoying.

I think I have a healthier outlook now that I have freed myself of worrying what others think and what a therapist thinks. Our joint sessions are now very freeing allowing me to express my feelings to Michael and understanding his feelings.

How open are others? Do others discuss true feelings to a partner? Are you honest to a therapist?

My husband and I just established with a new doctor. I really like her, she seems very nice and easy to talk to. This is a good thing right?

I am going back in next week for a well woman check. It's just my yearly and I am having no problems. I do want her to check me for everything (again not having problems but would like to have that peace of mind) though but I am not really sure how to ask. My plan is to just say "Since we are already doing a Pap can you just check me for everything else too". My fear is that she will ask questions why since she knows I am married.

What should I say if she asks me why? Any ideas? I'd rather not say I think hubby is cheating but I ALSO don't want to tell her I'm a swinger either!

      HELP!
