Hi Everybody,

I never understood some things I've read in peoples profiles till this afternoon. "No picture, no reply" seemed a little harsh. Physical appearance isn't that important to us, we figured, and besides we met a GREAT couple who just needed to be extremely discreet because of his profession.

"Don't show up looking like you just rebuilt an engine" is one that popped up a couple of times. We giggled about that one too. Who could possibly be so goofy as to show up like THAT?

Well, this afternoon we found out why those things make it into profiles. The guy showed up in a ratty t-shirt, faded torn jeans, and a dirty baseball cap. The teeth he had were gray fading to black. He also had one eye that was cloudy and pointed in a different direction. All of this we probably could have overcome, but it got worse. When we sat down to eat he started talking about his sexual exploits and preferences....loudly....in a Ryans....just as the Sunday church crowd was rolling in. :( There was no changing the subject with him. He couldn't seem to take the hint that raunchy sex talk just wasn't appropriate for the setting. On the rare and brief moments that I could get him to talk about something other than sex he didn't have much to say that the average elementary school kid couldn't come up with.

The lady was a whole different subject. She had the same dental nightmare on display. Her clothing was a little less inappropriate but still not really attractive. She was deaf from birth. I have no problem with that in itself, but she seemed to have never learned the normal coping methods most deaf people pick up. I tried my luck selling cars a few years ago and I developed a large deaf customer base. The deaf people I was selling cars to were all pretty good lip readers if I spoke slowly and clearly. This lady was not. She used sign language with her husband. I know a little sign language but she was so sloppy in her signing I couldn't follow it for the most part. In short, there was just no way to communicate with her.

After bolting lunch it was "Oh gee, Look at the time. Gottagonicemeetingyou." I'll never give the fish eye to a profile that has those lines in it again.

Oh yeah, Just as a super special bonus we found out that they're going to the same house party we're attending next weekend.

Oh joy.

Sorry y'all, I just felt the need to vent.

I so sympathize.

We're not real picky - selective, yes; picky, no. We're not Brad and Angelina, never have been, never will be, and don't expect or want our swing partners to look perfect, either.

But every now and then we run into a couple where it's hard to imagine ANYONE doing them. I find myself leaving those meetings totally indignant, thinking, "People like that should not be allowed to inflict themselves on unsuspecting swingers - there oughta be some kinda law against that." Usually it's a couple with no pictures, but sometimes they have deceptive pictures.

Cleanliness is a HUGE issue for us; and if someone doesn't bother to clean up before meeting us, there's no way in hell any naked part of my body will ever be close enough for them to touch. Or any clothed part, for that matter.

There are some out there like this in every community and yet somehow they keep popping up at parties and clubs...go figure....:)

Yeah...that's just not cool. I shower and do my hair and put on makeup and put on clean clothes before I go out to dinner with J...and I've been with him for 3 years and no longer need to make first impressions.

And maybe I'm the only one who feels that way, but when you're all clean and pretty don't you just feel like the sexiest most attractive person on the planet, even if you aren't?

Oh man, forgive me but I find this a hoot. I am shocked that they showed up dressed like that. We actually met a lady on sls who is the same way as far as talking about sex all of the time. Now, I'm as sexual as the next girl....but I do talk about other things! I tried to talk "girl talk" with this chick, and she wasn't having it. I would say something like "hey girl, how was your day today?" and she would literally say "I'm thinking about getting a rim job, mmmmmmm" and it always ended with mmmmmmmmm....lol

Yeah, some people are a trip.

Nope you're not. After I get out of the shower, and I'm all oiled up smelling so good. I feel so darn sexy.

Yeah, that whole "no pictures, no reply" thing becomes pretty relevent after an experience like yours. We've had couples write us and express interest, we opened private pics, then they opened private pics and  Jacked up grills, lazy eyes, pictures that show that the person couldn't possibly be the age they have on their profile.....

Yep, now you just have a good war story to tell when you're just hanging out with swinger friends.

Regarding the loud part, we recently attended a club event where there was a couple that was very loud and raunchy in the hospitality room and then also in the group play room. They managed to ruin it for almost everyone.

How do clubs typically handle that sort of thing?

You have to admit, that is such a better story than "we just didn't click."

;)

At least you didn't waste a trip to Ryan's on a couple that was simply dull and unremarkable.

OMG... Just really. OMG!!!

I just can't look beyond badly dressed or black teeth. There is NO excuse to meet someone like that. None!

We've been on various boards striking conversations (chat) for the past 1+ year. Initially we were very apprehensive about giving our photographs on the net. Later we did start giving our photographs and and receiving theirs before they wanted to start chatting. We must have given out ours to around 5-6 couples and then had to stop. Know why? We received our own photograph back from someone on the one of the other boards who wanted to chat. Anyone saying No Snap No Chat can stay without chatting with us. Giving out photographs on the net days are over for us.

We had a similiar experience - talked on the net for a long time w/a single male, all pics of him very hot (but none smiling). When we went to meet him at a dance club, hubby saw him first, and was just smiling to himself when he saw him. He just KNEW I was going to have an issue. He came over to us started talking and I just had to keep my poker face on. It really shocked us, as this man is a professional, but his teeth... :(

Needless to say, nothing happened, nothing will. I guess I'm phobic about teeth. Good teeth - good health?

Which brought us to our latest question. Do you state in your profile that you require white teeth/full set??? Otherwise, how do you ask? I mean honestly, do you ask for smiling pictures? :o

You get the manager and they are asked to hush up. That is annoying.

How funny that I actually had to look at our profile to see what it said.

It says that we are both well groomed and attentive to personal hygiene and are looking for couples that can describe themselves in the same manner.

Basically, Mr. LFM and I are not beauty pagent material, but we do have our limits. I don't have to see pics before we meet, but I can tell in about ten minutes if there is a connection. :) Two seconds if they're wearing the same clothes they used to pump out their sewer. :(

I am at the mature end of the swinging demographic as are my play friends. The ladies have their share of curves and character lines and often prefer to wear something when younger, fitter ladies prefer total nudity. This is just to say clothing is totally OK if it makes you comfortable. This is not a photo shoot. This is intimacy and mutual giving. Besides, a little color and texture is nice to see and feel. When I know my partner is shy I can adjust and just observe that as a boundary.

      Now, go shopping.

I haven't seen this addressed here, so I was wondering if anyone has been scammed or attempted to be scammed while swinging? Now we have had single guys lie about having a partner or one couple wanted me to loan them a sizable amount of money. So has any swingers tried to blackmail or scam you?

      Hey everyone,

I know it has to have happened to some or most of you. You are in the middle of your full swap having your way with the other spouse when all of a sudden you or they realize the condom came off!

Knock on wood this has not happened to us yet. We would just like to know what everyone's course of action was after this happened? A friendly fishing expedition maybe?

Did you put a new one on and go at it? Or decide that it was a moot point by then...

So my wife and I are both very excited about getting into the lifestyle, and our only real hang-up is genital herpes. We don't have it and really don't want it. We've read all the literature, understand the risks, and are well-versed in safer sex practices. I see a lot of posts on here about education and fears of contracting an STD through swinging...but have any of you or anyone you know actually contracted an STD through swinging? Not through random hook-ups but through organized activities with other responsible people? What were the circumstances under which this happened? Were safer-sex practices employed?

I guess I'm trying to run the numbers, and since about 1 in 4 women and 1 in 5 men have herpes, it seems like there's a pretty good chance you're going to encounter another couple who has it. Since it's estimated by the CDC that 90% of people with herpes don't even know they have it, you can't count on someone saying "I'm clean!" to really mean anything. They could either be lying, or simply not know. Since condoms only provide about a 50% risk-reduction, with drugs increasing that reduction to 75% and most transmissions are from asymptomatic people, why doesn't everybody have it?

I've been reading through this board, and I don't see any posts from people saying, "Oh crap, I got an STD from swinging last weekend!" It just seems like there would be more. Are there ones I'm just missing?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Guys, I know failure to launch is probably THE main concern of guys in the swinging world, followed by the ability to make it last as long as she wants.

      But DAMN!

Swinger's penis nearly 'explodes after he injects it with Viagra' | Metro News

I got a little greedy,’ the man known as SoreCock wrote after he decided to order the drug when pills from his doctor wouldn’t help him with his stamina in bed.
He felt he needed the extra boost because he and his wife, 27, had apparently just started swinging.
So the next step was injections straight into the side of the penis,’ he added.

It worked a treat at first but when it was time to stop, his penis didn’t want to.
‘I started pouring cold water over it. Nothing,’ he wrote.
‘I took four Sudafed pills (as suggested online when you get an out-of-control erection). Nothing.
‘I started exercising major muscle groups, doing endless sets of push-ups, pull-ups, squats, etc. (also recommended online, in order to divert the blood). Nothing.’
After three hours he decided it was time to head to the emergency room, and yes it was one of the most embarrassing things he said he ever done.

WARNING: The picture in the story may be a little much for the easily queasy. They also offer a click through to the actual penis in question. I declined that opportunity.
