Okay, I'm thinking about putting together a CD of "Swinger Dance Music", something to get everybody in the mood. I saw this thread, but I'm looking for something more upbeat and energetic then "mood music"!

Something like anything by E-Rotic, Khia's My Neck, My Back (Like It), or La Rissa's I do both Jay and Jane.

Any other suggestions?

- "Bad touch" by the blood hound gang you and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals so lets do it like we do on the Discovery® Channel"

- "Don't Cha" and "My Humps"...great dance tunes!

- There's also one called "pussy control" that was always played at the club we went to in Richmond...don't know who sings it

Let us know when you get it done!

Dont cha by the Pussycat Dolls feat Busta Rhymes. This is a good bump and grind version ;) (The Ralphis Hot Freak Radio Mix) is a bumpier version better suited for lively dance. "Pussy Control" is Prince, another by Prince is "Sexy M.F.". And for some X rated fun get 2 Live Crew "Pop the Pussy".

It is a common topic up here in Canada. There are several swing club DJ's who seem to have problems playing sexy music...they just don't get what needs to be played to fill the dance floor and feed the sexual energy.

The list got started for a friend who wanted to know what sort of music would be desired.

Basically anything with a strong sexual beat and some sexy words wouldn't hurt... ;)

True. But, alas, I'm limited to 700MB on the CD-ROM, so I couldn't put all the suggestions on it.

I’m not a great dancer, but I will get on the dance floor once there are enough people there, I’ve had two or three drinks, and the DJ is playing a variety of music. One thing I hate, HATE, HATE, about some clubs – swing or vanilla – is that they stick to one genre of music for an hour at a time or a whole night. I appreciate it when the DJ swings from Gwen Stefani to ska to Motown to hip-hop to country to whatever. Give this white boy a dance beat and some variety. Please. A few songs of a genre in a row are fine, but give me an hour of booty-shaking hip-hop and I lose interest. What a dullard I am. But I've found that I'm not the only dullard out there.

So, I’m very happy to see that the previous lists in this thread have a variety of styles. At the clubs I’ve been to I’ve seen folks in the barely legal age groups up to 70 year olds. To me, that means we should encourage music – danceable music – from a variety of eras. And I’m including the early Sinatra tunes here, for you true romantics.

Anyway, I looked through my New Wave CDs and noted that the following songs are danceable, often have sexual themes or lyrics, or themes/lyrics that can be construed as sexual, so I thought they’d be applicable here:

BLONDIE – Call Me

BLONDIE – One Way or Another

BLONDIE – Dreaming

BLONDIE – Heart of Glass

ROMANTICS – What I Like About You

MODERN ENGLISH – I Melt With You

SOFT CELL – Tainted Love

BERLIN – Take My Breath Away

BERLIN – Sex (I’m A…)

CARS – Just What I Needed

ABC – Look of Love

FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS – She Drives Me Crazy

THOMPSON TWINS – In the Name of Love

HAIRCUT 100 – Love Plus One

RAMONES – I Wanna Be Sedated (Not a sexual theme, just danceable…and one of my favorite songs)

ROMEO VOID – Never Say Never (“I might like you better if we slept together…”)

THE GO-GO’S – Our Lips Are Sealed

PSYCHEDELIC FURS – Love My Way

Anyone want to add to this New Wave festival? Or do a thorough check of the Motown catalog (another hotbed of familiar/danceable music)?

Motown! Now there's some great music!

Heard it through the Grapevine -- Marvin Gaye

Devil with a Blue Dress On -- Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels (Not really Motown, but still from Detroit)

Just about anything from the Temptations or the Four Tops.

And to this day, "What's Going On" (Another Marvin Gaye classic) still gives me chills.

But don't forget Earth, Wind, and Fire: September, and Sing a Song, The Spice of Life, etc.

It definitely makes me want to get up and dance!

How 'bout Richard Elliot "When a Man Loves a Woman" : Gato Babieri "Europa" : anybody doing "Bolero": Carlos Santana's new album,

The proper dance for these tunes is the Horizontal Rhumba.

Another considration is to play it low enough to allow some conversation and introductions! We just came back from the LV convention and couldn't hear a thing at the dinner table, the lounge or by the pool!

Maybe I'm just gettin' old.

Hey there,

I agree you need the music loud enough to listen to, but not so loud where you can't hear what the other person is saying. I also posted a thread concerning bad DJs at swing clubs playing...well...just crap. They couldn't DJ out of a wet bag. So here is my MUST list for a good time:

Sexual Healing/Marvin Gaye

Closer/NIN

Give it Up/Basement Jax

Justify My Love/Madonna

You Suck/ Not sure the artist, but great women's power song about the right to receive oral sex and not just give it all the time.

Pussy Control, Get Off, Erotic City/Prince

Crash/ DMB--Okay, that one is for Scully because she is a HUGE Dave Mathews Band fan

Booty Call/Not sure who sings or raps this, but great line dancing fun.

Anytime...Anyplace/Janet Jackson (this is the "we're going to the back room because the party is winding down" kinda song)

Cashmere/Led Zeplin--this has passion and sexiness written all over it

Okay, a few of my play list, how about yours?

"Love Deluxe", by SADE.

It's my current favorite to put me in the right mood for swinging.

I know that I am young here, but may I recommend:

"Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off" by Panic at the Disco. (The song is about a cheating girlfriend, but hey...great beat and a fun chorus).

"Polyamourous" by Breaking Benjamin (the original version is a little hard-rock, but they have a techno version floating around out there somewhere)

"Crash Into Me" and "Lover Lay Down" Dave Matthew's Band

"In Your Room" The Bangles

"Tempted By The Fruit of Another" Squeeze

"Dirty Little Secret" All American Rejects

"Why Can't I Get Just One Kiss" Violent Femmes

"Grand Theft Autumn (aka - Sugar We're Going Down Swinging) Fallout Boy

"Drawing Board" Mest

We agree with some prior posts anything by Dave Matthews, Prince or Santana is awesome.

Another great one is great is Buttons - Pussy Cat Dolls.

anything by Mad Season

anything Latin, they really know how to sex it up.

Nickel Back - Figured You Out

I have DJ'd and one thing that baffles me is when a particular song empties the floor then the DJ plays more of the same genre. Being a DJ is tough, you have to read the crowd and sometimes play stuff YOU might not like if it is working for the crowd.

Yep, I know what you mean, and DJing for a swinger party is probably the hardest thing a DJ can ever do. The reason for that is that when DJing any other venue the people usually come for the music and expect it to all be one or two different genre of music. Whereas, at a swingers party the people are not there for the music at all and their musical tastes very wildly. I just DJed a swinger party last Saturday night and while I enjoy it, it certainly is a challenge keeping everyone happy. I used to think weddings were the worst, but at least at those the wedding party will give you a play list or will tell you what types of music they want played, not so at a swingers party, and their are always a few there that think that their idea of good music is the only good music and they have no problem in repeatedly telling you so.

Has anyone compiled a CD like this that we can buy? Is there a market? There is nothing better than dancing to sexy and sexual music, whether you swing or not.

When we host a party we always try to create an erotic and sexy ambience with soft lighting and music which is designed to encourage slow or smoochy dancing. Slow numbers by singers like Anne Murray and Nana Mouskari (spelling?) are among our favorites.

Well, seeing as how you mentioned it. For those that may have one foot in the bed anyway, Barry White will either get you there quicker or at least get you naked faster.

Thanks for all the lists. I see I have some recording to do.

I have to say good swingers Dj's are hard to come by we have used 10 or 12 different Dj's for our events and only 3 or 4 of them could read the crowd. Leah has a list of songs that she keeps and gives to any new Dj's we use and they are required to bring that entire list with them, she also brings it along to the party and gives them this copy to play from if they get stuck.

We have found a format that works well and that is to start the evening playing 5 or 6 faster songs and then 1 or 2 slow ones for guys like me who can't keep a beat. As the night goes on we recommend changing the mix ending the night with 2 fast and 2 slow. we also have a comp cd of funny sex songs that we let the dj use as a break in the evening.

I tend to go for the music that expresses how we all feel when we are in a lifestyle environment:

Straight Fuckin

Candy licker

Hoochie mamas

slow roll it

strokin

I wanna do ya

pump my juice

sit down on it

lick it before you stick it

a sexaholic

this bedrooms on fire

Okay I might be older but every time I've asked for this song at a dance the floors gets filled!!! I've had at least two DJ's say it is too old or not funky enough but every time it gets played the ladies love it and it is a nice change from all the hip hop and rap and the song is:

Honky Tonky Women by the Rolling Stones

so to all you DJ's try it you might like it :)

Any chance of getting that list? I have DJ'ed off and on since the days of vinyl, but just recently started spinning at our local swing club. The crowd seems to like what I do so far, but I am open to anything that can help me do a better job.

My first question to you would be what song do you think represents SEX the best. I'll give you an example of a couple songs that have been discussed among friends:

Salt N Peppa - Sexy Noises
Led Zepplin - Whole lotta love (I just dont get that one)
Peter Gabriel - Shock the monkey

So, what song do you think just oozes sex?

Thanks for letting an old tired post drag on!

In another post, a member mentioned music as part of the experience.

Frankly, I'm still stuck in the 60' and 70's music wise.

Anyone have recommendations for old or new music that has a sexy tone or beat that gets them going? I'm looking for energy more than soft candlelight music if that makes sense.

Ok I just found this album (A Burlesque Tribute to Christina Aguilera) and couldn't help but buy it. I have seen the other posts concerning music and sex, but I would like to see your list of stripping music. What kind of beat do you need to take it off?

ps; For couples, please post your gender up front. Some people might be confused as to why the male half is stripping to Lady Marmalade.

After several months off, we decided we wanted to hit the local club scene again. We felt like we'd gotten into a rut at our regular club, so we decided to change things up and try the other local club.

      Disaster.

Despite being advertised as a "cheap night" the cover price was huge. There was a very small crowd. The music was so loud that it was impossible to hear myself speak, much less listen to anyone's replies, making introducing ourselves to people impossible. The music was also horrible and it took the DJ over an hour to get to our requests (which were the only requests he had, so it's not like there was a huge line of other people's requests ahead of ours) and even when he did, he couldn't find half of them and kept switching back to the horrible stuff he was playing instead. So, we could barely dance. We couldn't talk to anyone and we certainly didn't hook up with anyone. To cap the night off, I ended up taking a wrong turn and, though a misunderstanding of this club's protocol, interrupting another couple in mid action... my bad and majorly embarrassing. They were pretty pissed about it, and in retrospect I don't blame them, but it was an honest mistake on my part. I felt horrible about it.

Needless to say, we called it an evening, left, and with my wife's complete agreement, tore up our membership card (only had a month left on it anyway).

What really sucks is, all of my lifestyle friends go to this club and post endlessly about what a great time they have and how fun it is. Yet somehow, they are never there when we manage to go and our three experiences at the place have been universally horrible.

      I'm done with it.
