Not recieving newsletters?

I've been getting a lot of emails from people lately complaining that they ARE NOT recieving the weekly newsletter and/or message board digest.

If you were previously getting either or both of these (or have signed up for one or the other) and are not getting them now, this is what I have found out.


It seems that both Yahoo and Hotmail (and perhaps others) have taken new tacts in preventing SPAM and in doing so are now forcing you to take measures to recieve mail you actually WANT. Evidently both of these are now blocking mail from any domain that sends email to a large number of their subscribers.

So basically since I have mailing lists of about 20,000 people who have subscribed to recieve the newsletter and digest you can guess that a good portion of both of these lists are Hotmail and Yahoo addresses.

So here's what you need to do if you have recently stopped getting the newsletter and/or digest and wish to continue getting it.


Option 1: Change your email address (yeah I know easier said than done). Resubscribe using a different email address that isn't Hotmail or Yahoo.


Option 2: (I'm not totally sure about this one... but we can try it and find out). I've been told that at least with Yahoo you can add the address that you wish to receive mail from to your address book as a verified sender (or something like that) and that will remove them from the "spam" list (at least for you) and allow you to recieve the newsletters.

Also if you are Yahoo (I don't know if Hotmail does this too or not), you might just want to check your Bulk Mail folder and if the mail you are wanting to recieve is going in there, then you should be able to mark it as "not spam" and have it return to going to your inbox.

If you are like me then you get enough spam that you typically don't even look at your bulk mail folder to see what's there before deleting it.

We are finding that some people on AOL that receive our newsletters we send out are finding them in their spam folder.

Once they find it in there if they highlight it and click the button that says it is NOT SPAM they will receive it in their main mail box from now one.

Doing the same thing on Yahoo will fix the problem also.

Thanks Lee. I didn't realize that AOL had updated to include an actual "SPAM" filter. Sounds like maybe they are finally growing up....hehe.


THe other problem I found a lot with folks on AOL, is that often they will change their email prefs regarding who they will accept mail from and forget to include us.... Or not realize that they need to.

I am like you, i don't normally go through my bulk mail and usually just delete it. I have yahoo. So what i was wondering was............. is it possible just like once or twice for you to post on here when you are going to be sending out the newletters, so the ones of us will have an ideal when to actually look through our bulk folder for it and mark it not spam?


If not that is fine, i will just look through it everyday................... I WANT THAT NEWSLETTER.....................

The most recent newsletter went out yesterday (Thursday) and the next digest will go out on Sunday evening.... so be on the look out for those.

Once you tell Yahoo that it's not spam once that should be enough, but only way to know for sure. Maybe if enough people say it's not spam they will take us out of the spam category.

The last newsletter we received was well over a month ago on AOL. (Which I found odd as we had changed our e-mail address with the board to a new server.) We got rid of AOL last week so I can't check that anymore. Our new e-mail address was changed with the board about 3 months ago and we have yet to receive one to it, however other mailings from the board do come to the new address.

Unfortunately, if you change your email address on the board... it doesn't automatically change it in my mailing list. So you need to actually let me know about the change and that you want your digest subscription updated.

- To update your newsletter subscription (the one that lists the updates for the whole board and upcoming swinger club events and such) - you can do this manually on any page of this site by unsubscribing your old email address (not really neccessary) and subscribing with your new email address.

- To sign up for the message board digest (if you don't already recieve it) or to change your subscription address go

The regular newsletter for this week just went out, so if you are on the mailing list you should be recieving it sometime today. I'm attempting to send them in smaller/ more spread out bundles so it may be as long as 10 hours or so before you get it.


If you are on AOL, Yahoo, or Hotmail be sure to check your SPAM/BULK folder for the newsletter and mark it as "Not Spam", in order to keep it from continuing to go there.

Message Board digest just went out this afternoon. The 3/4 of you that are on Yahoo, AOL and Hotmail, please be sure to check your Spam/Trash folder and "unspam" us.

Check Your Mail. The newsletter just went out, so if you are on the mailing list you should be receiving it shortly. If you are on Yahoo, Hotmail or the latest version of AOL then be sure to check in your SPAM/BULK folder and make sure to mark it as "not spam".

Message Board Digest just went out. I tried something different this time (sending it out in smaller batches) so we'll see if that makes a difference.

Those of you who usually find yours in the Spam/Bulk box please let me know if this time is any different.
