I think everyone that "knows" Jen should write a blurb about her and post it on the "blurb" thread. Then we can sort of "vote" on the best of the best - and I know they would all be "the best" because only "the best" can be written about "the best."

Of course, I can't write a blurb - I couldn't even write my own!! But do I get any credit for the idea? At least? But I think I'll still try to write a Jen "blurb." Thinking, thinking, thinking....-EBF

Edit Alert! I wrote "this thread" when I meant to write the "blurb thread." - sorry (was thinking too hard)

Oddly enough I think it's usually easier to blurb about someone else than it is to blurb about yourself.

I agree with you Julie. We don't really post often enough for others here to co-write our blurb. I am sure we will come up with something.

Yeah, right. Remember me? The one that had to get wrnakeru to write one for her because she couldn't think of anything original or funny to say about herself?

But never fear...if you really, really need it...I'll step right up to the plate with a friendly and helping hand....and ask wrnakedru to write one for you.

wrnakedru is off to a great start
Talking Here's what I'm thinking ....

Okay - time for the authoritarian side of me to come out - as instilled by "the Colonel", my father. Who was begat by his father, first a principal and then superintendent of schools. Landed at Ellis Island with his parents at the tender age of 3, from Germany. I may have had a southern Momma - but this other side is coming to the forefront. [red squirrels don't raise chipmunks, ya' know!]

I wrote my blurb, such as it is.

I've written one for EBF, who because she is my friend [and we know secrets about each other] she avows to love.

I've contributed heavily to Mrs. O's blurb, leaving the love of the Buckeyes to come pure and straight from her heart. She doesn't know my biggest secrets, I know none of hers. So I can only assume it is the milk of human kindness that had led her to say she is appreciative of the blurb portions I contributed to her.

Julie gives the recipe count at 42 to date.

I have gone to my file copies of recipes sent.

20 [that's right, ya-hooos,] twenty of them came from this computer I'm whacking away on right now.

Now, I have compassion. I realize fully my unemployed state gives me a great deal more "discretionary" time than the rest of you folks have.

But I am about to take the "discreet" out of "discretionary" [don't quibble with me when I'm on a roll - I KNOW its not ALL there]

You are not my brothers, and frankly, you're getting HEAVY.

I have decided perhaps the proper approach may be the threat of blurbs included in the entertainment section regarding those who have NOT contributed.

This is a personal threat, and has not been sanctioned by the management of this site, or any participating board members.

This is just me, being an ()() - and being true to my heritage.

GET BUSY, PEOPLE!!!

Remember, I have waaaay more time than you do!

wrnakedru,

Man O Man, you rock! Twenty recipes...all from you wow!

I aspire to some day have your wit, talent and patience.

No, I'm not kissin up to spare myself from the wrath...I'm not!!

Goofin, just goofin

I could say that half of the other half of the recipes came from me, I could say that but it ain't so...so I'm not sayin that.

I do have others to send in and I will, that I can say.

Still, this blurb thing I dunno bout this blurb thing, I'm all for EBFs suggestion, she rocks!

I am willing to make an even trade, and write someone elses blurb if they write mine.

All I can say is thank goodness my blurb is done and submitted...... (and I've submitted about 4 recipes. 5? Maybe.) And these - all coming from a McDonalds gourmet!?!

I'm sending more, tho'. Actually...I have lots and lots. You know how those of us that are awful cooks operate....constantly writing down recipes everywhere we go..."Oh, my!! This is delicious. Can I get the recipe?" - only to come home, cook it, toss it and swear our "friend" lied about the ingredients. Many a good friendship has been ruined over the ingredients list. Even a few mother-daughter relationships have taken a turn for the worse over recipes...

"Mom, when I asked you what went into that beef stew recipe, why didn't you tell me about the stew meat? What!?! Just explain to my exactly HOW I'm supposed to know to add MEAT if it isn't WRITTEN DOWN ON THIS CARD? Awwwww....Just forget it!!!! I am NOT discussing this! You're just jealous. You WANTED me to screw up that recipe! I'm not EVER asking you for another recipe as long as I live. Other daughters have mothers that TELL them about the stew meat in the beef stew recipe. No...........not MY mother. MY mother withholds ingredients."

Now that I know that MEAT goes into the the beef stew recipe, I think I'll send that one in. It really is good...if you add the meat. Plus...wrnakedru knows too many secrets. Gotta keep her happy.
