I just received an email apparently from gatorvol. The other To: addresses were Swingersboard as well. I deleted the email.

Got one today. I think that the Trojan is reading the FROM: field of peoples old e-mail messages. Got one (ostensibly) from people with whom we exchanged e-mail only once, four years ago. Not members of a Yahoo group. Not members of Swingersboard.

We found ourselves locked out of our swinging account on yahoo yesterday, for suspicious activity. Although we are not getting any detection of a virus just a reminder to not open anything from us. We are not sending anyone a no subject e-mail without first contacting through the Swingers Board PM, or Via our Swing Lifestyle account.

YES, this happened to me about two weeks ago. It pulled random email addresses from my contact list.. and sent out the link to them!!

And it looks just like it came from me, but I didn't send it! Beware!

These things are a stone-cold PITA to get rid of. I've had to kill them from my Dads laptop (not too hard, they don't seem to work well on a 64-bit OS) and recently his desktop (much harder.)

If you see a warning pop-up screaming about malware infections, and it isn't from your normal AV, DON'T click it! Don't even close it. At this point, your best option to try to avoid getting hit, is to just reboot. That may not even do the trick.

These things will also try to block the installation of *any* AV / malware removal tool you try to install (I know!)

Unfortunatly I am one of those who missed the little change in the warning pop-up and clicked it. That is what I get for getting behind on my SB reading. Laptop crashed. Friend got it up and running but the pop ups are still there.

Quoting this in hopes others will see this since it just happened last week to me.
