Referral Contest!

I told you we'd be doing LOTS of contests this month. So the second in the LOT will be a referral contest. See how many folks you can get send here and get to join this month.... and bonus points if they actually participate!

1 Point for every user you refer to the site
plus
1 Bonus point for each post that they make (for the first 5), and an additional point for each 5 posts there after.

So if they join you get 1 point. If they join and post one time you get 2 points. If they join and post 5 times you get 6 points. If they join and post 10 times you get 7 points.

So how do you send referrals, you ask?
There are several ways.

1. Use your referral code. If you click on your User CP you will see a referral code listed there. You can give that to anyone you are encouraging to join or post it on your webpage or in your Yahoo profile. No Spamming!

1.a - The code provided with any of our banners will now automatically track your Referral ID. Feel free to copy that code and paste it on your Myspace or any other webpage you have. Several of the banners can also be used as MySpace Comment images.

2. "Email this page". On each thread at the top you will see "thread tools" when you click on that one of the options is to "email this page". When you use that option to email a page to someone that you think they might like, if they register you automatically get credit. This also works if you email a story from the stories section or anywhere else on the site that has an "email this page" option.

3. If they don't have your link that's ok, just make sure that when they register they enter YOUR username as the referrer.

I just thought I'd point out that a couple of people are already doing rather well with this just by putting their referral link on their home page or Myspace / Yahoo profile/ 360

Just updated the code that is provided with our banners to automatically include your referral ID. Several of these make great MySpace comment images. All you have to do is go to the bottom of this page and click the "link to us" link and then find an image you like and copy the code provided. Paste that in a comment box on Myspace, or into your profile or any other webpage you have, and your referrals will be instantly tracked.

Fine then! The contest ends April 30. Why can't they just make the months all the same length anyway?

Just a reminder about this one. I know a few of you have websites or profiles out there and have a link back to the Swingers Board from them. You may want to make sure that your link uses your referral code (available in your user cp) so that you get credit for your referrals.
