Lurkers!! What is keeping you from joining in?

I never thought I would say this but... I'm a lurker.

I'm not exactly sure how it happened really. I just popped on the site and found that I had a PM that was 5 days old and there's a note at the top of the page saying, "Hey There Miss_Piggy we see you lurking there!"

Yikes! What's become of me?!?!?!

As for why I'm lurking? Well, part of it is that it seems like other people have answered everything so well already. By the time I come along all the good advice has been given.
The answers that are already up tend to seem more clear and interesting than I would be able to muster.

Add to the the fact that I'm sort of out of practice with the swinging business these days. Recently I'm just around in a nostalgic sort of way...

I'm not pleased with this new "lurker" label though. We'll see what I can do about that.

The person that started one of the longest running threads on the board can't be a lurker.
It's in the bylaws or something.

ONE OF? I think that is THE longest running thread in the board history AND it was also the winner of a Longest Thread contest at the time it was started.... and of course the REASON we no longer allow posting games to count in the longest thread contests....lol.

i read a lot of what is there and if I feel I have anything else to add I will. I don't like to be repetitive so if it's been said I don't bother.

I dont post because I/we are not experienced enough to comment on most topics. I read posts often, but we arent actually active in the lifestyle so dont know if our views would be relevent. I (husband) am very interested in getting involved, while the wife is more reluctant. We have gone to a lifestyle event and did not play with others and that was fine for both of our comfort levels. We enjoyed the atmosphere but she is afraid I will try to push her to do something she is not comfortable with. She is really on to my plan. We have been married for just over 20 years with 2 kids in high school and I am trying to trick her into being my object to share as I choose. lol Sooo, with all of that said, I enjoy nearly all of the topics and feel I am better educated for my own life for reading. My wife reads posts if I point them out to her. I will probably continue to lurk, and learn and maybe some day I will have more experiences to add. Thanks for all the work to keep the forum here.

We'd still love it if you'd post. I (the Mrs.) remember when I first got here. I read the daylights out of this board. You've probably already found that people here are some of the most down-to-earth people you'd meet and that we really enjoy talking to one another, about swinging and other things.

Congrats for going to an event with your wife. Keep reading the posts here. I know you were being a little sarcastic in your post about her "being onto your plan". There is to be no tricking in swinging. (no pun intended)

I like it when someone "gets" my sarcasm. lol There really are some very down to earth people who come here often and post. They somehow make me feel "normal" for my thoughts and desires. Oh, and by the way, how many posts before I am not a "lurker"?

For those of us who only post occasionally, it is a lot like dropping in uninvited to a private party where we don't know anyone. This is pretty usual where there is conversation among people who are comfortable with each other. But it encourages lurking.

most of what I read here has always been followed by " this was discussed in a thread... or see this post"...

I enjoy this forum but i don't think that I have much to offer to the discussion in general.

I have posted in several threads, but I am in doubt that my wife and I will ever be part of the lifestyle.

I check in now and again, and try to find some topic or discussion I can be part of.

I lurk 'cause I really enjoy the site, especially the stories, but have been informed more than once that 'swinging' is only for young, beautiful people, not for seniors. We seniors do not lose interest in sex, nor interest in men and women just because our age is more advanced. I know of a woman that enjoys sex at 90 years of age.

so as a lot of people have posted, i feel like i do not have much to contribute. i am not a swinger -- yet. at this point, it is a fantasy. and i am still looking for a partner that i care deeply about, and will be open to this type of sexual activity.

so, i am glad that i found this site, i read the forums every so often, find them to be very informative and educational. it has been quite helpful. so i appreciate everyone's posts!

Not all our posts are about the lifestyle. Some are about life in general.

I've been doing this for a little while now and still make an ass of myself sometimes. At times I control it and sometimes it controls me. Just part of what I am. No apologies (normally)
