Is there a way I could set up a subcategory of "buddies" that would only be able to view my Blog?

From the way it looks right now, the only choice for a private Blog is to open your Blog to everyone on your Buddy List. I use the Buddy List more for organizational purposes than actual buddies. If I decided to start a Blog I would like to give some of those people permission to read my Blog, others not.

Unfortunately, not at this point. We are hoping for further enhancements to the system to give you better control over who can see which posts. At this point it's either everyone, noone or buddies.

Question for you bloggers:

Do you have your blog control set up so that you receive instant e-mail notification when someone has posted a comment to your blog?

If so, has this been working for you and do you like this feature?

I think we have the default on this set so that you don't automatically get email notifications. However there is an option for those who want to be notified when people comment to your blog. I have had one report of a user not getting these automatic notifications (despite being signed up for them). Is anyone else having this problem?

I would like your feedback on how you think the blogs can be improved. I don't have a lot of control over improving them but I do want to take a list to Vb of suggestions/requests.

The things I have noticed ....

- Can't control who can view on an per entry basis. You have to set it for the entire blog.
- Can't reply to comments. All you can do is post another comment and address it to who you are replying to and unless they have subscribed to the entry they may or may not see the reply.

Please add your thoughts as you play with the system. And for those of you who have not yet been inclined to check out the blogs and play with them, I would love your feedback as well to what may be keeping you from doing so.

how do i find the members blogs to read them? when i click on blogs my name comes up to write a blog but right now i just want to read some. thanks

The Blogs are a new feature here, so I'm not exactly sure what the requirements are as far as being able to read them (still learning about them). It's possible that you will need a minimum number of post here on the board before you're able to access other's blogs.

Julie will be on soon and she'll see your question and be able to answer you.

your two posts in this thread is just what you needed. There is a minimum of 3 posts required to be able to read other people's blogs. Less than that and you can have your own blog only.

We have nine posts but we are unable to access the Blog section.Maybe we are not doing the right thing.

What exactly is it that you are having problems with? What shows up when you click on the Blogs?

If you can't view a particular blog, it could be that the person has it locked only for friends they want to view it. Not all blogs are open for everyone to view.

sometimes it just brings up that i have no blog when i tried to make a blog it said i don't have permission
