A Reminder About Politics

Swinging provides a way for people to get together, relate to each other and exchange information on this Board and it would be a shame if that process is hampered by political discussions and its related side issues.

I like how this forum has friendly people and everyone seems to get along and respect each other in spite of various differences of opinion about the lifestyle.

Reading through the forums leaves a positive impression. But if I started seeing animosity due to political differences, it would leave a negative impression. What a shame to wreck this board's great atmosphere just so a few people could let off political steam. It's not worth it!

There are plenty of political forums on the internet if that's what you're into. Thanks Julie... for keeping this place sane!

This board did have a segregated political forum years ago. Julie's right to ban such discussions. The posts, of which I was a big part, were a bad thing that created a lot of animosity.

Mr. Alura is correct. There is no segregating politics, it will always overflow into other topics, whether the political comments themselves or the animosity created by those topics in their segregated forum. And as he pointed out, there is a place to go where you can discuss politics with other folks (including quite a few from this site). You just can't do it here.

Thanks so much for making the rule about no politics. God, I cannot tell you how many relationships have been trashed once the political crap entered the arena. I am new to your site but encouraged by this one rule alone. Hope to find a lot of what I am looking for here.

I have a feeling I'm going to have to bump this once a week through the remainder of the year (or at least the first week in November).

Please remember discussion of politics are not allowed in this forum. That means no discussion of political candidates, political parties, etc.

There is currently a discussion going on about how / why the politics in general should even have a bearing on swinging and that is allowed, so long as no one turns it into a discussion about actual politics.

I have to agree with Julie on the politics. The site is about swingers and sex not politics. Ok everyone meet at my house on tonight at 7 PM and we will talk about the who has the biggest tits. I bring the dips, you bring the tits.

Mr. Alura, thanks for the tip about Brad's Place. I'll have to check it out. Still, Julie, politics could effect your very right to own and administer this site. Swingers and free speech generally can be and have been targeted by sanctimonius politicians. Ignoring politics is like an ostrich sticking his head in the sand. You won't even see the axe coming!

No one is IGNORING anything, we just aren't allowing it to be discussed here because we've seen through experience what it can and will do to the site as a whole.
